5 months later i finally got a responce rfe!

Just got this in my email

Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD

On July 2, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your mailing address.

I wonder what the rfe is??? I think its sad you wait all this time just to get a rfe.They should scan everyone apps when they first get it to see if everything is in order.Save alot of waiting time.But,atleast i got some kind of responce.

That is pretty crappy how they waited so long to say there was a problem. Scan through the extra copy of everything to see if you can figure it out while they send it. On a positive not, you should be able to respond to the RFE pretty quick and from there it is uually only a couple of weeks to approval barring any issue with your response. Being on hold is actually a step ahead of where you were yesterday.

Check the copy of the package that you made and check the evidence it will give you an idea that is missing there.

Yeah, i am going to go over what i have.Cause i already sent a complete copy of everything to my lady.Probally something silly, box not checked,didnt sign in the right spot or something.Maybe her passport pic, i dunno.Cause i know her passport pics are smaller than what they require in america.I dunno, like i said probally something silly just to waste peoples time about.

I called uscis just a minute ago, for giggles.To see if they could tell me what exactly what the rfe was.And the guy started reading what the website says on my case.I asked him,do you guys ever say anything other than exactly what the website says?He paused and then started this talk about we are here to give information and what not.Then started to tell me what a rfe was, i told him 4 times i know what a rfe is, i wanna know what exactly the rfe is in my case.

I wonder if these people feel like chimps,where they give no input really.They might as well just have a recording looped over and over again.

I waited 5 months and a 2 days for a email tell me i have a rfe,might as well wait to see what it is.I will report what it is asap.

Here is a important question,do they search your whole app for all rfe's or do they stop at the first one?

Say you didnt check a box, they send you a rfe.Do they send you another one cause you dont have the correct sized passport pic?And then send you another rfe cause you didnt sign in the right place?All for the same app?

I think that would be stupid and a waste of time,if that was the case.I hope it is not.Has anyone had more than 1 rfe for the same application?

So, do i send it directly to the same address i sent my first application?Can someone that has had a rfe please tell me what i need to send this and do i just print another copy of the form ,sign it and send it?Do i need to add a piece of paper saying this is for case bla bla bla?

Man, That really sucks. I hate that for you guys. Waiting for over 5 months just to find out you have an RFE. Hopefully once you have resolved this things will start moving quicker for you. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you guys. Mike

You wait until you get the physical RFE with the detailed explanation on what they want from you and then you send that and any supporting evidence regarding that, if also necessary. If you do not wait, you may be wasting your time and USCIS' time. Be patient! It is in the mail and you will find out soon.

we got an "rfe" at 5 months and 12 days! request for additional info sent on June 25 and still havent recieved it in the mail yet.
