Hello VJ members,

Has anyone here did their interview at the Embassy in Gambia for the I-130 petition? I'm just trying to find out the timeline there after the I-130 petition is sent from NVC. :help:

I may be wrong, but I don't remember seeing anyone on VJ going through Gambia.

Met on internet 6/04. Married at court house in Aba, Nigeria 12/04. 3/05 traditional ceremony in Nigeria w/ my picture. 12/05 finally together again. 4/06 ceremony/celebration in the states together

We were married in Gambia, so I thought that the interview takes place in the country that you were married in.

Essentially, that doesn't enter into it. For example, you could have gotten married in Mali, but you would still be sent to Senegal for processing -- there is only an Embassy in Mali, not a Consulate; and as such you cannot have a immigrant visa processed in Mali. You can have a non-immigrant visa (e.g. tourist visa) processed in Mali, but for anything permanent you have to go to the nearest country that has a consulate.

For Mali that's Senegal... and also, Guinea-Conakry, Guinea-Bissau, and a couple other countries if I remember correctly.

11/28/05: Medical completed in Dakar
