My folks lives in Baroda, Gujarat, INDIA. Their case was completed at NVC then transferred to Mumbai consulate for an Interview.

We've contacted VFS office and they told us that we need to pay "Rs. 387" and list of documents to be submitted to VFS (copies).

1. Passport: photocopy of the bio pages of the current passport and a copy of the observation

page or previous U.S visa pages (if any).

2. Photograph*

3. Biographic Data Forms: DS230 Part I and II

4. Birth Certificate: original and photocopy*

5. Marriage Certificate: original and photocopy

6. Divorce Decree for all previous marriages: original and photocopy

7. Death Certificate: original and photocopy

8. Proof of Relationship

9. Police Reports: original

10. Foreign Police Certificates: original

11. Deportation Records

12. Prison Records

13. Military Records

14. Affidavit of Support (I-864 with attachments): original

15. Affidavit of Support (I-864A with attachments, if applicable): original

16. Copy of Affidavit of Support (I-864 / I-864A) (F category only, for each family member)

17. Job Offer letter from Employer in the United States: original

18. Medical Report*

Question, since we have sent all the documents original + photocopies to NVC then why should we have to submit again to VFS, mumbai.

Please help,

Interview Date: July 17 @ 7.30am

Thanks,

xmd

You need to submit all the information through VFS not send them to the consulate. I am not sure why they do it this way but that is what my husband had to do when he was getting his visa. You can go to the VFS in Ahmedabad and submit the paperwork.

I have a feeling this doesn't belong in the DCF forum -- looks like the OP has filed for IR5 visas. Moving to Bringing Family Members of US Citizens forum.

Just want to let you know that my parents GOT the visa, VO asked typical questions and entire process was straight forward. Nothing is unusual.

Again, thanks VJ members for doing excellent job.
