I'm filling out the paperwork for my AOS. I have a number of questions.

1. Where it asks for my last name, can I put my new married last name?

2. Where is my A# located?

3. I don't have a SSN number yet, is that okay?

4. Where it asks me for my previous employment, do I write my jobs in Canada since I haven't worked since I can't work yet?

Please help and thanks so much in advance!

I'm filling out the paperwork for my AOS. I have a number of questions.

1. Where it asks for my last name, can I put my new married last name?

Yes, unless it specifically asks for your maiden name.

2. Where is my A# located?

You probably do not have one yet. (listed on the NOA 2)

3. I don't have a SSN number yet, is that okay?

Yes, no problems.

4. Where it asks me for my previous employment, do I write my jobs in Canada since I haven't worked since I can't work yet?

Yes.

Please help and thanks so much in advance!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I just filed our AOS also so this is what you can do:

1. Where it asks for my last name, can I put my new married last name?

yes you can put your new last name (do you have a proof that you changed it?) its ok you can still put your new last name.

2. Where is my A# located? it should be on your EAD stamp or white card that they gave at POE to the US. (at least thats where my husband's was

3. I don't have a SSN number yet, is that okay? its ok you can get it when you get the new EAD card for 2 years

4. Where it asks me for my previous employment, do I write my jobs in Canada since I haven't worked since I can't work yet? yea put your previous employment in Canada and the dates to worked till and then unemployed for right now.

hope this helps :/

Oh okay, then I dont have it :( But the long number at the top of the I94, is that my I94 number? Or is it the one with letters and numbers?

You can find your A# on your K1 visa sticker in your passport, it's printed in RED and it doesn't have to have an A in front of it (mine doesn't). And to make sure it's the right one, go get your NOA 2 from the K1 process, at the top will be a number starting with A. Just to make sure it's the right one. Do not use the I-94 number if you're not sure.

Also, it is ok to put in your new last name. Marriage makes the name change legal and since you're providing a certified copy of the marriage certificate, it's all good.

Good luck with your AOS! :)
