What is a good hotel to stay at (clean, quiet) near the airport? We will be staying overnight before we depart for the US on Saturday.

I stayed at Bayview Park a day before my flight, not too near but i can assure it's clean.

Yea, we stayed there the day before our interview (big roach in the CR). We were looking for something closer to the airport. Thanks.

decent hotel near the airport that we stayed in was the heritage hotel... says 3 miles away from the airport itself (source:internet)... but pls book it in advance coz they charge more if you just show up w/ out advance notice... we paid P7000 when we showed w/ out notice  it was an unexpected stay... though our previous visit only cost around P3000 or so... bayview is also a good hotel but its a bit further and expect more traffic if you leave during the day... good luck and have a safe trip!!!

Townhouse Hotel is as cheap you can get, and it owned by an expat. They have free airport shuttle. Roaches are everywhere. Just tell the front desk, and they will spray. It's the Philippines!

Thanks ... I think we will pass on that one!

It's not that bad, and very friendly. We will stay there when we go back, for sentimental reasons. I meant you will find roaches almost anyplace you go.

Timeline

We stayed at the Manila Airport Hotel when I arrived. It seemed pretty decent, just a basic hotel room. I admit my memory is quite foggy of that night due to being totally fried (no sleep the night before my trip + long flights + 11:40pm arrival + excitement, etc). But I think I had a warm shower, saw no unaccptable insects (I hate bugs!), had edible food, and napped well on the bed for a short time before the flight to Mindanao the next morning. Also it was very well priced.

I'll probably stay there again if circumstances make it convenient.
