On the sixth day God turned to the Archangel Gabriel and said: "Today I am going to create a land called Canada It will be a land of outstanding natural beauty. It shall have tall majestic mountains full of mountain goats, and eagles, beautiful sparkling lakes bountiful with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, high cliffs over-looking sandy beaches with an abundance of sea life, and rivers stocked with salmon."

God continued, "I shall make the land rich in resources so as to make the inhabitants prosper, I shall call these inhabitants Canadians, and they shall be known as the most friendly people on the earth."

"But Lord," asked Gabriel "don't you think you are being too generous to these Canadians?"

"Not really," replied God "just wait and see the winters I am going to give them."

Free stuff rocks! A girl I went to highschool with posted that Mandarin is giving away free food today?! Dannnng.

They sure are!!! I went! The line was huuuuuuuuuge..... thankfully I have some keener friends who showed up early (I also showed up early, but they beat me)... we waited a little over 2 hours, but were amongst the first group to get in. It was GREAT. SO worth it.

Happy Canada Day everyone!! I also realized this will be my last Canada Day in Canada for a while, but I'm actually really looking forward to the 4th of July next year... apparently Santa Barbara has a BIG fireworks display ON THE BEACH... omg. :D

I hope it's your NOA2 as well!! :dance:

For me where I live, not a lot of celebration for Canada Day. There's a parade down main street, and meeting in the park. I went last year, because I hadn't done that for a long time. Realized, I wasn't missing much! :lol: However, we do the fireworks for BC day, and I always like to go see them. They're set off at the marina, so as long as the evening is good, makes for pretty colours on the water.

I know that Myrtle Beach in SC is the same way. Tim has gone a couple times or so, and says that even after an hour and he starts to leave, there is more and more going off! So at least I'll be with him next year. I'm looking forward to it.
