Hello all, I am wondering, how far in advance can my wife have her medical done, can she even do it until the case goes to Manila? We are currently waiting on the approval of our I-130, BUT we do have an old K-1 that got approved and passed to manila just as we were getting married, could she use that to get her medical done? :) Just in the case there are any issues, which there shouldn't be, but that if there are we can get a jump on whatever needs to be done.

Thanks

Medical results are valid for up to 1 year. In your case you are dong an immigrant visa and not adjusting status later as in a K-Visa so you could do medical some time before the visa interview.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Thank you so much, do you know where I could look to find information on making an appointment for the medical? Thanks again!

I would suggest to wait at least for the approval or NOA2 before doing anything.

In the mean time, she can live healthy and try not to get sick.

If you are worried about TB problems, get an Xray and consult a doctor (not in St. lukes)

this way, any problem can be prevented.

I don't think you should use the approved k1, this might lead to confusion...

as far as i know the St. Lukes would get her passport once tthe medical is done.

good luck!!

st lukes told me as long as she already has her case number, she can go for the medical. i suggest once you get your noa2, she should have her medical already, the sooner the better. dont use the old petition because they will forward the results to the us embassy and it might raise questions . you dont need an appointment because st lukes is a walk in basis, mon- fri, except holidays. the medical is valid for 6 MONTHS.
