Many Asians find it offensive. People are Asian, rugs are Oriental...

So you buy an Oriental rug from an Asian person, and an Asian rug from ...

i got in a discussion with a friend, who insists that using the term Oriental for asians is kin to Negro for african-americans? true????

I call my wife a negro to confuse her.

i suppose that oriental was once proper as was coloered (NAACP) and Negro...but now Asian is the correct PC term..thanks, i was not aware of this as i have a friend (all racists do) that is Korean and uses oriental for everyone south of korea

Well there was a time long long ago in Brasil where pretty much we said there was black, white and yellow, as the 3 races in the world. And then of course the Portuguese mixed themselves with the slaves and the native indians and then the germans went to the south and the japanese and chinese went to Sao Paulo and the central plains and they also mixed themselves in, and then the mixed ones mixed themselves some more.

And then people started saying we had white, off-white, coffee and milk, milk chocolate, bonbon chocolate, toffee, cream, and all other colors of the food spectrum. :lol:

i didn't know Italians were white...?

i didn't know Italians were white...?

also, Jesus was an Arab, for sure.

He didn't speak Arabic, so by the strict definition of the term, no.. he wasn't.

As for Italians, I'll let them figure out what they are. To me, they're white. They can self-id however they want.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

An Arab, by definition, speaks Arabic. Jesus did not.

That definition is disputed...

but okay, fair enough, i rescind my statement.

in the movie, he only spoke Aramaic.
