Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Yes it is, as far I know.

Many Asians find it offensive. People are Asian, rugs are Oriental...

Well said :).

All in the eye of the beholder. In Brasil calling people black instead of negro can raise a lot of eyebrows.

as long as they didn't grow up watching charlie chan movies they don't seem to mind the word. actually, they seem to prefer being identified by ethnicity, rather than just as an "asian". call a chinese a chinese, but don't call a korean a chinese, buddy, and don't call a fillipina a thai. and whatever you do, don't call a japanese anything other than japanese.

as for the term negro, i use it to describe the ethnicity. there is no such thing as an "african american". i usually use the term "black", but that includes so many ethnicities that are not true negros.

"oriental" and "occidental" are terms that don't define ethnicity, rather only regional ethnicity, meaning simply "eastern" and "western".

Yes, I'd agree with that

Well It's a historical fact as we all know. White folks gave demeaning names to every other race besides their own, since they thought they were superior and God was white and wanted white folks to rule and all other races are inferior.
