Hello,

My husband served in the British army for 22 years and was stationed in a number of different countries. I would assume that living on a base is still considered "territory" of the UK, but I am not sure what to put for question 30 on the DS-230 form. Should we list only the countries he has lived in outside of his military career?

Any advice on this issue would be much appreciated!

List countries lived in while in military, the military record should show this.

Military Records

Available. Military discharge certificates are issued to enlisted personnel, non-commissioned personnel, and petty-officer personnel of the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines.

Officer personnel are not issued discharge certificates, but are usually able to obtain a letter from the appropriate office listed below confirming their release from the Armed Forces.

Details of service in the Armed Forces may be obtained as follows:

Thanks! That's very helpful. Do you think it is possible to write "see attached" and use the copy of the army service locations pages from his military record? I'm having a hard time weeding through all the dates and places to create a clean chronological list for question #30.
