I had a very positive experience with my congressman's office. The rep was very helpful in finding out where we were in the process exactly and kept me updated and stayed on top of it.

They cant speed up the process, but they can get answers that we cannot

Good Luck!

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Has anyone else received help from their Congressman?

My experience was not as resultful (word?). His staff member in charge of immigration assistance requests tells me that I'm within current processing time, since they're on cases received Nov 25. I may call again today to emphasize that they WERE on cases from Nov 25 (or so they claim) as of April 30, but we're more than 2 months past that date.

Yesterday I spoke with my Congressmans office and they had me fill out a form so that they could try to help speed along my I-129f (148 days with no contact from Vermont sercice center). Has anyone else received help from their Congressman?

We tried when I sent my wife's K1, but the USCIS response our Congressman received was that is was still within the normal processing time of the CSC service center.

For your situation, I looked at the current processing timelines for the past six months. Unfortunately, it appears VSC is the slowest (when we did our K1, CSC was the slower):

I think you should be hearing something soon.... stay positive!

It really depends. Some are more helpful than others. Ours made several inquiries even though we were not at 6 months yet. He also said he knows the people at USCIS he is talking to, and seemed to be able to get some real time information. He got the officers he talked to to go and speak with the adjudicator's office directly to find out what was actually going on. I think he did make things move more quickly.

moved from the K-1 case processing and report forum to the more appropriate forum

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
