Absolutely, in the spirit of young entrepreneurship & free market values, why the heck not?

At least in Boy Scouts they teach you how to shoot arrows and make fire with stones...

What does Girl Scouts teach you?

Maybe that is part of what paddle, pole and roll is. They learn how to use weapons to defend themselves from the preverts that they will undoubtedly encounter when walking to their cars after a long shift of pole dancing

Alright, and here are my thoughts about babies and kids on airplanes...

Did you ever notice that it's not ALL kids that are cranky, crying & out of control? i will have to do research on this one... because it must have somethin' to do with the parents.

For example, if junior is standing up on his seat or kickin' the seat in from of him, the parents must see that... teach your kid how to sit right & be quiet... what the...

Crying & whining is a whole other issue...

There are for sure controllable issues with babies/kids on planes like behavior when they are older.

I was extremely paranoid about bothering other passengers on our flights last spring to India. Part of it having to do with reading comments from VJers who hate being on planes with babies and other stories from people. I didn't want to be that mom. But some of it is out of your hands and a little tolerance from people helps.

For instance, the only reason Kavi cried on the flights were during take off and sometimes landing because of ear pressure. My ears and jaw were killing me, an adult, as me and Kavi had just gotten over colds before our really long trip to India. It hurt me bad, imagine how it feels on a baby or very young child that doesn't understand it and can't say "mommy my ears hurt". A little understanding can go a long way from other passengers. I promise to never let Kavi act up and be a pest to others on flights on purpose, but I can't control if he has pain. Thankfully there are always nice passengers who had these experiences before too or empathize with you who will smile at the child and try to help make them happy if it's from pain. One very nice lady whistled at and smiled at Kavi a good 20mins when we took off on one flight. It was filled with many family friendly folks, ahd some empty seats, and actually felt like an oasis compared to other cramped flights. lol. And that was a 14 hour flight. *whew* If I didn't have to, I would not take Kavi this young on those flights. But we have no choice.

Indeed... like i said...crying is one thing. Babies cry, no two ways about that... especially the ear thing, as you noted.

i think the annoying thing is for (older) kids/parents who should know better. Like, a parent shouldn't let their kid kick the seats in front of them or run up and down the aisles, etc... That's controllable behavior, no?

I don't have children and fly a lot, especially long distance. I've had lots of screaming babies on the planes and I have to say that it never bothered me. I feel for the poor babies and the stressed parents but I never get that hatefilled baby rage that so many VJers mention. Families have to suck it up hearing us having sex in the hotel room next door, with the bed banging on the wall. It all evens out somehow.
