Tavo took a phone call once from a Cuban woman whose son was named Usnavy. He said, "how did you come up with that name?" She said she saw it one time on a ship in the port of miami.

But back to topic: I don't feel the need to justify ####### about my life choices. And I am quite vocal when people who have kids try to push motherhood as the ultimate accomplishment of any woman. #######, really.

You want to have kids? Cool. Have them and hopefully love them and educate them. Good for you. Just don't ask people to be immediately enthused to hear about pregnancy, nursing, teething, kindergarten, high school prom, etc. :dead: If I longed for that kind of conversation, I would have a kid.

I was recently told that I couldn't do that (jointly decide to not have children) to a Dominican. Oh, please.

This is one of the new advantages of getting older -- someday, people will stop asking when we are going to have children?

I've heard about Usnavy before :o and thought it was an urban myth.

Another one from Mexico: For some weird freaking reason I was with one of my cousins at the pediatrician. A lady and her little girl sitting next to us. Lady is 100% Native Mexdican, and little girl is just adorable, brown skinned, huge eyes, etc. I ask the mom what the name was:

Leididayana.

#######???? What? Well, turned out mom adored princess Diana; and she tought that was the way to spell the name Lady Diana (which is kinda phonetically right in Spanish). Good Lord.

This is a thread for people who

- don't want babies, think babies are retarded, or even hate babies

- think there are way too many babies here already and we could lose a few

- don't think that "babies are a miracle"

- want to travel and enjoy their lives

- don't want their houses to smell like dirty diapers

- would like to sleep past 6am without a screaming baby as an alarm clock

...

All welcome!

My kids are teenagers. Who the hell wants to start all over again? I've seen what they become

OMG totally!!! Some folks tend to do that.... Ronald Sanchez, wft is that!!!

I remember at one point the government would not allow non-Spanish names, and you had to give the kids at least one spanish name. That's how folks like Maria Ozawa and Itsuko Adriana came to be lol

wow, didn't know that

I went to high school with a kid named John Johns. I barely knew him and he seemed nice enough. Too nice to be cursed with such apparently unimaginative parents.

Real love stories never have endings...
