@Narwal: Kudos to you for pursuing a carreer  . I have been home for about three years now and am itching to finally go back to work. I can't wait.

Unfortunately, some people have children because they seem like a requirement. They have the baby, then get a nanny and see their kid about 20 Minutes a day...it just doesn't seem right to me. My former hostmum was vice president of a big company. She was gone 40 weeks of the year. Where is the sense in having a kid when you are never home and cannot adjust your life according to your child's needs? She was getting older, heard her clock ticking and had a baby real quick but probably wasn't even ready for one and not willing to give up her former life for it. I feel sorry for the kid who has had 7 nannies in the first 7 years of his life and no mother whatsoever.

That is horrible :( I can't imagine not having time for our kids plus I don't want some stranger living in my home and raising my kids...I can screw them up all on my own thanks! JK :P I agree that sometimes people do feel the pressure either from family or society and have kids out of obligation/culture instead of wanting them. Which, while I was in shock over two of them at once, I wanted my kiddos badly and I don't regret one missed "single" night out or change that has happened since.

My hubby is home during the day too so that has a lot to do with my ability to pursue my career and he teaches dance classes nights/weekends so our schedules allow us to always be around for them. Might be the reason why we need a break too :P Good luck w/ getting back to work...its hard going back at first but if you do something you like/love, after a while it gets easier and you will enjoy the adult interaction. :ot: sometimes I find myself humming Noggin tunes at work...:unsure:

i wonder if anybody name their kids ''hitler''

There was a big to-do about a couple who had named their kid adolf hitler, and then couldn't get any bakeries to put it on a birthday cake. Like 5 different places told them to GTFO.

After all, there is a line - when it comes to names - that you just shouldn't cross. IN Germany you have to give your child a name that definetely 'describes' the gender and some names are on the 'no go' list. Our neighbors wanted to name their son "LUCA TONI" (they are soccer fans or at least dad is) and they couldn't name him that because neither Luca nor Toni are 100% male names so they named him Luca Sven (Sven is the name that descibes the male gender here).

I had my 2 kiddos about 20 years ago...when I was in my early 20s. At that time, my sister (one year older than me), was an official member of the 'BabyHaterzClub'...she would literally jerk/puke if my kids got too close to her. I used to terrorize her by forcing her to hold them!

Now my kids are in their early 20s and are both off at the university...living away from home (FINALLY!) And, my sister has since bred, but her 2 kiddos are both < 8 years old. I enjoy watching them drive her crazy, no matter how much she 'says' she adores them!

Amen to the wheel of Karma!:lol:

Peace,

My dad went to Uni with a girl named "Mary Christmas" seriously. What kind of parents with the last name Christmas would name their daughter Mary??? My dad showed me her listing in the phone book when I was little, but it's not listed anymore because she used to get pranked so many times.

My friend wants to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. She wants to eventually have kids, and has planned out when she wants to schedule her C-section in order to miss the least amount of work. She also thinks she can go back to surgery 5 days postop. I laugh.

I eventually want kids, but not babies. So into the adopting an older kid thing. No poo or vomit for me.
