I am not whining... I could care ####### less about babies, that's why. If people choose to reproduce, good for them. Kudos. I choose not to.

thank god.

I just can't get excited about babies. I'm happy for people who have just had them, but to be honest I'd rather just have another cat, myself.

I rarely find them cute and I do not EVER want to hold them. I find them a waste of my time.[/b]

Luckily I married a man with the same POV!!

If Platy ever said he wanted a child I'd divorce him.

And get another cat.

My husband and I have one kid and that is that. It is two years this month since my husband had his vasectomy, I think one of the best decisions we made in our marriage. Sex is so much better without fear of pregnancy rolling around in the back of our heads.

I can't think of a single advantage or good reason for having more than one kid and I completely understand the position of people who never want to have any at all.

so looking forward to our next long distance flight to europe in august. Thank God my kid is usually well behaved (for my own sanity) but I really hope to have one of you child-hating miserable old people on board to leave a shitty diaper on your seat when you use the bathroom.

The counter to that is when your child asks you: "Mommy, what is #######?"

What happens if your child dies? Unfortunately that can happen.

Ever wonder how it be different to have a son or daughter since you've only one kid?

We don't have kids and don't want any. I love other people's kids which I can hand over to the parents when they scream, stink or bleed.

Couldn't care less about whether other people want them or not. However, I find it disturbing that answering the inavoidable question "so do you guys have kids" by

1) No, and we don't want any - usually gets you a two hour speach about how selfish you are and how it's abnormal to not want kids

2) We can't have any - gets you a simple "oh I'm sorry, that's sad (????) and then you're left in peace!

What's up with that? Why is it acceptable to shoot blanks but unacceptable to not want to reproduce?

So people should have multiple kids on the off chance that one dies?

If my daughter dies, she cannot be replaced. She isn't like a dead family dog you replace with a puppy from animal control.

As to the second question, nope. It isn't the gender that is important, it is the number.

I see it quite often with my cube mate here at work. He and his wife don't have children - I believe by choice, I've never asked, just seen people ask him if they had any. I really haven't seen it go much further than "Do you have kids?" 'No' "Oh". Maybe the experience is different for men than women though. Guess I'll find out when I get married!

They go on these fabulous 3 week international vacations every year. I can't wait until I HAVE 3 weeks of vacation to go on fabulous international trips...

Heh? What does not wanting kids have to do with your sexual orientation?

Exactly - what a stupid remark, how do people come up with this kind of BS?

Friends of mine (a ghey couple) are waiting to adopt and they are more antsy about it than any straight couple I have ever met.

That's what they do in Africa. I kid you not - they have 20 kids, because 15 of them will die.
