Hello! :)

I got my Brazilian Federal and Civil Police certificate by the Internet and I would like to know if someone knows if those will be accepted by NVC. They was issued by the official Brazilian Federal Police and SSP web site... I know that here in Brazil the Rio Embassy accept them, but I don't know about the NVC...so I sent an email to Rio Embassy asking them about it and they said yes, but I wanna be sure! Please help me!!!! :D

Thank you! ;)

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm willing to bet that if the Rio Embassy said that they accept them, then they are telling the truth. Why would you doubt what the Rio Embassy says? You can always call NVC if you want...and they may or may not be able to answer your question.

I'm sorry I don't know the answer though.

Thank you so much! I also think They are telling the truth!! I just wanted to know if someone tried it...We decided send them, we think they will be fine, but getting the other papers just in case we need them is a good idea as well!

We already sent them, so I will let you know what will happen! Thank you again :) !

God bless you,

Patty

Hi Patty - We just got my husband's police certificate from the PF site also.

Question for you or anyone else that might be able to help - did you have to legalize yours, or was the simple certificate sufficient? Also, did the certificate serve as a record of no local police record also, or did your husband have to go to the delegacia or poupa-tempo to do that? Also, did this have to be translated? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jen_JoãoFelipe! :)

I printed them and sent to my hubby without to legalize, I think it is not necessary, but he translated them before send to NVC!

Here are the both sites to you:

http://www.dpf.gov.br

http://www.ssp.sp.gov.br

PS: The second link is just to whom lives in SP, if you don't live in SP, you must go to Delegacia or PoupaTempo!

Good luck and God bless you!

Hello everyone!

I'm a little confused about the police reports. Is it acceptable to get the federal one from " NaHora", or do we have to actually go down to the federal police office and request it in person? Thanks so much... :help:

L got both of his online (Bahia and PF) and Rio accepted them without problems. So, I don't think NVC would care - as long as Rio accepts it, they should (though obviously, the NVC would probably require translations).
