Race should not play a part in any hiring decision, period. It should be against the law to even ask a persons race on an application. IMO the only time race should be asked is in a census.

while i understand why they ask...

it can be annoying when you don't fit into one of the boxes... and then when you have to justify picking one box over another... or no boxes at all...

I was in our community pool yesterday and noticed how there were more mixed-race families than not. A huge departure from how that pool looked in 2003, when I bought my place. Back then it was largely white seniors. Today, very mixed and tons of children.

Asking race may become meaningless in our lifetimes.

The nice thing about being a Democrat, is that even when you don't vote, your vote will still be counted! I live in a 97% Democratic precinct, and we always have 98% voter participation.

I don't see much discrimination against Asians... I'm sure it exists but it seems pretty minimal.
