my dear sis PILYA! i almost cried reading that you already have your schedule!!!! im sooooo happy for you... and for your son! were the only ones that can relate to the very long journey........... its very hard but im sooooo happy for you!

which part of US are you going? maybe we could meet up for lunch??? hehehehhehe...

im so happy for you.... very........... well, yours is march 28, 2005 (my weding day too) and youll be interviewed sept 2009

its more than 4 yrs huh?

dont forget to update us.... you know! your paving the way!

thanks mitch..you are so warm..anyway,im also a Girltalker...do you know that forum?

whenever I read post about incoming interviews, I am always excited and envy those aspiring immigrants...now that its my turn, am really really overwhelmed..I even panic bout what to do when that day comes...yup, that's 4 looooong years..how time flew..my hubby always come here yearly though..but thats not to be compared when he's around all the time...im in Oceanside California, 30mins away from SanDiego...how bout you..and from where about you here in PI.

well, we were notified Oct14,2008, saying that our petition was approved..then comes Choice of Agent forms, etc etc...were you already notified? Do u already have case number?

Hi...i'm so glad to find you friends...i have the same situation with you too...

My husband filed me I-130 on March 2006 and a week ago I received letter from NVC said that my case # already changed. But I don't know what me & my husband must do the next. Do we just have to wait? But for how long? Actually this December my husband can start to file his citizenship.

Can you help to share any info?

Thanks in advance friends...

God bless us.. :)

Sisca

hi sisca, nice to hear that you got your case number already...as far as im concerned, you have to wait till they send you some stuff for you to process. just wait... ;) all i know is you have to wait at least a year after getting approved. BUT right after your husband will be naturalized then update USCIS but submitting your hubby's citizenship certificate and that will shorten your wait.... but if your spouse cant file till dec and i believe he wont be a citizen till middle of next year, im guessing it will be in the same time span... Goodluck to you... atleast you already have that light that youre almost there! keep us updated.....

Hi Mitch,

My understanding is that the two USCIS centers that process the I-130 are processing the cases like this: CSC is processing the 2007 I-130's and the VSC is processing 2006 (our application is here and still nothing yet). No matter when the I-130 gets approved, we still have to wait for the National Visa Center to assign a visa number and notify people that the visa number is available immediately. Right now the visa numbers are available for people who applied in June 2005 (right now waiting time is 4 years and 3 months according to this). So far it seems that the visa numbers are moving about 1.5 months.

I think another factor that is going to make things move fast is that USCIS in national and local levels are processing USC applications within few months, instead of one year. This means that more people will update their applications for the spouse and not use the limited visa numbers for LPR's. Good luck to all of us.

just to share my experience..

I came here in the U.S in 2006, met my husband and got married in 2007.

Husband filed I-130 for me in 2008 while he was still a GC holder.

He recently became a naturalized US citizen last June, we upgraded the I-130, but until now, it's not approved yet :(

I'm currently adjusting my status from F1(International Student) to GC..

We are now preparing some documents and money(another $1000+ huh?) for my husband to petition my 6 years old daughter(his stepchild & in the Phils.) soon... :)

Good luck everyone

GOD is Good!

I became UC Citizen on 8/14/2009. I called on the same day to upgrade my wife I-130 application. I sent a hard copy on 8/15/2009. As of today I did not receive any confirmation letter that my case is upgraded. I just do not understand what is wrong with VSC. Two of my friends who upgraded their cases at CSC were approved within 3 weeks from the time they upgraded their cases

Hi Mitch,

I remember when we applied for the I-130 petition in Aug 2006, VSC was processing the cases for Dec 2005 (they were approving them in less than one year) After we applied they stopped at January 15, 2006 and they have maintained that date for over three years. While CSC (at the time) was much more behind ----- now it has moved forward to 2007. I am waiting to find out when USCIS will touch our case - three years seems to long. I would love to have that first step approved and look forward to the next one - but we'll wait and see.

This is from the NVC website: " For numerically limited family preference petitions, NVC contacts the petitioner once the petition’s immigration wait nears end, and the priority date is about to come current . "

And my friend applied in the begining of August for USC (at VSC) and has the interview in middle of October <<- short and sweet! I hope my honey gets USC fast too (applying next year) and I don't have to use a visa number for lpr spouses.

i saw and read a few post from LPR trying to petition spouses... no matter what country the petitioner from... lets all come together and inspire, encourage, uplift everyone's spirit travelling this roadless journey! its tough waiting the whole 5 years or more trying to have our whole family be as one. pls share us your stories, even updates

well, i filed i-130 way back in july 2007, got the receipt aug of the same year. been seeing a lot of methods like that process will take 4 yrs, for 5 yrs or more and also checkin USCIS site and is telling that they are processing petitions file dec 15, 2005 at least there's that small light at the end of the tunnel. been going back to and fro Philippines for my son to spend time with his dad and for me to spend time with my husband and just enjoy precious family time together. life it tough and hard being apart with the one you love the most.this journey is such an ache but we dont have any choice but to wait and wait and wait! lets be strong and keep the love alive! were all in this together.

Hi mitch! Do u mean DCF(Direct Consul Filing) in USEM ?? Why is it taking too long like couple of years?I have seen the timeline for those who filed DCF only took like 6 months to 1 year but most of them took like 6 months? Do u mean those whose spouses has legal permanent residency in the PI and filed the petition for their spouse direct in USE Manila??

navyswife, hello!

i dont think a LPR spouse can do direct consul filing anywhere and this includes Manila US embassy... the LPR spouse has to be here in the US to file I-130 for the wife/husband that is abroad and will take 4-5 years for the whole process. DCF is one of USCitizens' benefits and for sure it will take just a year or a little bit more... if you dont mind, are you being petitioned by your husband? is he a USCitizen?

Hi! Sorry i misunderstood it i thought u just filed DCF in USE Manila and it is taking too long...Got afraid bcoz we will file DCF..lol

We are starting to prepare everything for DCF and searching base on the experiences of others who jsut got approved from DCF. Searching if it is possible for my husband to stay here with me til i get a visa.Bcoz they say that my USC spouse has to return to the US to prove his domicile bfore i face the CO so they can grant me a visa.He do have a residency in the uS and still have bank account and paying bills online since he came here. Some of them says he has to return to US bcoz it will be like 50-50 or red flag to the USE.

as far as im concern, spouses who are trying to file has to be here in the US to file for the petition. im just not sure about DCFiling since your spouse is been staying there in your country... why not try to inquire and verify this at Manila US embassy, in this case you just wont be believing and deciding based on what you hear.... make it official by inquiring in the embassy to be safe....anyway, youre a navy's wife right??? maybe your case will be different then.... but yea, just ask the USembassy to be sure.... Goodluck!!!

Hi all,

the new USCIS website is much harder to use - I did not see anymore anything about any dates processing i-130 for lpr's spouse. The only data that they have now is in months. It seems that they are going to have the approval time (of I-130's F2A petition prefference) done in 5 months (goal).

Hi all. I am new to this forum and really did a lot of search b4 i finally found a link with i-130 applications for spouses of LPRs, and am really grateful to read all the encouraging progress from everyone.

Well, my story goes:

My hubby became an LPR in Oct 2005. We filed for i-824 in May of 2006 and got approved. I was asked to go to my local US embassy which was Lagos, and there i was turned back because they said the fiscal year for my hubby's visa lttery ended in sept 2005, and that i could only have benefitted from the i-824 (following-to-join) b4 the end of that 2005 sept.

Eventually we filed for the i-130 in Dec 2006 (having wasted 14 whole months!),and our receipt date was Jan 05 2007. Got the first NOA1 about 1 couple of weeks. Heard nothing for so so so so so looooooong.... Until May 21 2009, we got the approval notice.

Got a letter date June 04 2009 from NVC, and it's been all quiet since then.

I was happy reading Pilya'scontribution and really really really want to hang on to her words that one year is probably what the wait would be, cosi was thinking maybe it was one year for her seeing as her case had really been long in waiting in the first place! 2004????!!!!

To Pilya also, how was ur interview? do u think u can share that experience with us too? and do u mind filling out ur timelinefrom after the receipt of the NOA2 too? I know, u must be pretty busy preparing to leave for the US by now, isn't?

Pls doea anyone know if the refusal of my approved i-824 by my local embassy could be contested anywhere?

Thank you, and hoping to read some responses to this post.

F2A from my husband, for me and our children.

2005-05-21: Got married to my man.
