I guess it varies where the petition was filed. Mine was filed in California service Center. I was filed June of 2007

My cousin also filed her petition in California Service Center, last May 2007. Looks like you both have the same timeline, being approved July 2009.

Thank you guys so much, this information really helps and again Congrats. My husband tried to call Vermont Center to inquire, but no luck (the lady kept reading the same info over and over "that I-130 petition for spouse of LPR is within the time limit ;) )

Anyhow, I heard from my friend that \USCIS will not be processing many applications for Work visas/GC (because the unemployment is high now in USA) and they will be concentrating more on other visas/petitions/GC/US citizenship applications and so on. I don't know how much this will speed the process up for us, but maybe it will mean no more lost/wasted visa numbers from NVC and USCIS (like they have been doing within the past 12 years, always issuing less than their annual limit).

i dont think there is such thing as USCIS is forgetting filed petitions... just bare in mind that it varies every country.... what kind of I130 did you got?? is it from a spouse???

hi, i know they are not basing it as where youre from but what i was just trying to say is, the processing varies every countries... and i dont believe they'll forget your file. but if that wasnt a help then just disregard that..... thanks

Mitch, while I do have faith that most cases in USCIS are processed within the "time limit" they actually are known to lose parts of files (applications) or even the whole thing --- rarely but it has happended :)) LOL That's why they always say to keep copies of the orginal filed application. All, I wanted to know if the I-130 approvals dated 2007 were from the same centers. Also, any information/feedback/reply helps to clarify and understand the process better (first time going through this).

My brother petitioned for his wife and children in May of 2005 at the Vermont Visa Center. His priority date is Dec 2005. In April 2009, he received a letter from NVC stating that a visa is available. All the documents were processed and the case is complete at NVC as of August 7, 2009. The file was transferred to the U.S. Embassy in Tirana and they are just waiting for a medical exam and interview. So they are moving very quickly. I believe that you will receive something from NVC very soon and once you do, it only takes a couple of months to process everything with all the documents that you are required to submitt to them. What my brother did to expedite the process was to sign up electronically so that instead of NVC sending all the instructions on postal mail, all the communication took place over emails. He also paid the visa fees and AOS fee electronically on the NVC's website.

EmaQ,

Thanks for sharing this info with us, I am really happy for him and his family. It really helps to give us an idea what to expect and thank you for the tips on moving quickly the petition.

I am really confused about the priority date why is it so far behind compared to the original application date (May 2005 petition date ---- to Dec 2005 priority date)? In the Visa Bulletin this month it is April 2005 (which is about right, with your brother's I-130 original petition date. Any thoughts on this?

Shume faleminderit :))

Yeah, I am also confused about the petition date and the priority date! My priority date is also Dec 2005 and as of now, I only have the NOA2..

Sweetapple is correct the visa bulletin Sept. 2009 is only April 15, 2005...

USCIS is so funny, the California Service Center has still the date of January 2006 in the application of I-130 while clearly people from 2007 have received their approvals of I-130. This means that they are at least one year off  waisting our time to check that website

hi all..

i was reading an asian newspaper and i read that President Obama will just have to take care of immigration issues next year.... would that be a good news that he will probably give some of his time to help us or is it a bad thing thats not going to happen till next year and who knows which part of the year...

.... my co-worker petitioned her hubby way back in 1983 and the President by that time frooze all the visa issuance for all category except family category petitions and so, it just took her 2 years from date of filing to her hubby first step foot in LAX... how we wish President Obama will do that for us too huh? that would be the greatest!

.... for sure that website wasnt updated at all... i had my biometrix for my i-90 application and when i checked my status online, all i got was they had to sent me an invoice for my payment (i had to make a stop payment since i mailed it in a wrong add) and it was suspended... i even got my receipt from that payment, even did my biometrix 2 months ago... soooo fooo showww...... its not updated....

.... how i wish the list for petition to be approve will go on as normal... our turn should just be in the corner....

.... lets continue praying for our families and for our visajourny to be just normal...... we got this you guys.... hand in hand...

It does not matter when the I 130 is approved.

It does matter when a visa number is available.

i know that... but at least theres that hope and light that your file is not being forgotten after waiting for forever...

...wont you be happy though that a petition was being worked on.... done with step1... at least...

i am just being happy that my patience is paying off a little bit so i would still jump for joy when mine will be approved.

You got it right! I would jump up and down from joy too!!!

I would rather have an approved I-130 and wait for visa number - than having a pending I-130 when visa numbers will become available soon (which may or may not delay the process further) and have request for something stupid RFE or something like that.

you are right mitch..and im positive that your petition will be approved soon...but uscis is still processing 2006 filers, why is that? I always visit that website before when ours is still not approved, and that website always become my basis.

it is always updated before..

anyway, Good luck to all of you who's waiting for the approval. Once your petition is approved, you will just wait for a year...just like what happened to us..no worries...all the waiting will be paid off soon...just have to be patient....

As for me, me and my son already completed our medical interview in St.Lukes, thank GOd, no problem at all..we are just waiting for Sept11 to come for our interview..

hi! yup, you only have to wait for a year..just to share, below is the message/notice when my petition was approved. This is from the USCIS website using/entering my receipt no.

"Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On October 14, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service"

from that date onwards, I have received case number, Choice of Agent, fees to be paid etc etc..my husband, who is my petitioner also received these notices..all of the notices were received online and by email..

my petition was filed by my husband back in March2004, you see, it took about almost 5years of waiting..so if you have received the same message ive posted above, then you are on your way to process everything needed for the petition..lucky you, you only waited for about 3yrs...good luck...

Hi pilya, Great to hear the good new.

I just wanted to share that I got the approval notice like you mentioned on August 10 2009. My receipt date was 14-Apr-2007. I keep checking the visa bulletin and it shows they are processing april 2005. But if you say in your case you just had to wait 1 year after the approval notice, I hope its the same in our case.

Its a great thing that has been started and really helps to get a lot of information from people who are in the same situation. All the best and good luck to everyone.

HI everyone! Called NVC automated voice response system and got my NVC Case Number! Im really happy because little by little I can see that they are really doing something with our petition. I know that this is just the start but im really thrilled to know my new case no.

Hi arttalip! What did NVC told u about your daughter including in the petition? What else did they tell you aside for mailing your child's birth certificate? Any other steps? I have the same situation with you.My daughter is not included in the petition, so maybe you can share a little something from your talk with NVC. Thanks!
