Hi Lebanese Girl,

I think you were "thinking" of my case (when you said why ours is taking so long)I am still waiting for the I-130 approval (Aug 2006) tranferred to Texas from Vermont. When you spoke with them what did they do and what did they tell you?

For ours they "opened an request to look into the case", gave us a confimation number to keep track of the request, and then told us to call back in 45 days. So far have not heard or seen anything from them. Are you here in USA or back home.

I don't think your husband's name has to do with anything. It is just the petition, all they have to do is look at the marriage certificate (where applicable divorce decrees) and approve/deny the petition. They are not granting any immigration status to anyone at this stage. They look at the name and do background check afterwards when you apply for the immigrant visa or adjustment of status and they look at the person who is applying for the benefit (your husband's name has nothing to do with I-130 petition). It is funny that you mentioned it because one of the people whom we spoke to at USCIS kept on reading the same paragraph and among the things that he was saying was "the processing time includes background check on the both". And we are not from a country that on the watchlist or anything.

Hang in there, I am sure something will hapen soon!!!

It's a good thing that they are working on your case and asking for additional information needed to approve your I-130. When did you submit you I-130 and did you put those phots and the form G-325A with the original application of I-130?

I just check the USCIS website and my case was Approved, Glory to God

I love my God

I30 sent 01/2010 (can't remember the exact date)

NOA1 January 29,2010

NOA2 February 26,2010 ( yes it was that fast, still Thanking God for that)

Transferred to NVC

March 5,2010, i received my case # and no visa was available

June 4,2010 received AOS bill via email and Paid the same night

June 4,2010 received Visa Application Processing bill Via email and paid the same night

July 15,2010 mailed the AOS form and documents

August 27,2010 mailed DS-230 form and documents

September 30th I thought my case complete but received an RFE later on, still in the process

Very Intreseting, they basically told me the same thing they told you on the phone.. I have to wait 45 days from the day that I called them.. So his name has nothing to do with the fact that they are taken longer then processing time..? I hate lawyers they lie about everything lol.. I can never trust them..

Yes I am in the USA and my husband is back home.

So your case is basically like mine!! When It got transfered to texas I called them and they told me that its been processed longer then normal. So if its not his name what would you think its taken longer then Normal im so confused i'm sorry because I keep hearing different things..
