Hi Name is Butterfiylove

I filed for my husband i130 in march 2007, to vermont center. I got a letter stating that it was transfered to Texas Center. Is that going to make my process even more slower I don't know why they sent it there. I been traveling back and forth every year, and starting a whole new life every year that i'm tired I only have P.R. card. I been here since I was 3 yrs old in USA. But a lot has happened to me and my family that trusting a lawyer is really hard. They basically scammed us for our money and never filed a damn paper. Until you took matters in our own hands, more or less its my dads fault for never taken action and staying on top of our papers. I meet my husband when I was 18 of age now i am 27 of age and going back and forth is killing me. I got my P.R. card in Nov of 06 so I still have the same wait time as my husbands i130.

Sometimes I just want to give in and give up and go back to Lebanon. I'm so tired of crying late nights and screaming in my pillow when will this end. Thing is I been putting up with this not just 3-4 yrs and I have another 1 yr no I been putting up with this now for almost 9 yrs because I got engaged and I didn't have neither green card nor anything lol.. I use to apply for approval to leave and come back. Now that I have my green card I just leave without an approval but It's still hard considering the fact that I don't want to lose my green card I have to come back within the 6months.

But when I read your posts half of me gives me hope but the other half says damn i am no where near where you guys are.

NO! you're not as far as you think... my case was approved OCT. 28, 2009 and my priority date (july 27, 2007) is even farther from yours... you're way much ahead of me... im guessing your beneficiary will have the interview 3rd quearter of this year or worse comes to worst, it'll be end of this year. and mind you time goes by so fast... a friend from here told me that it will take 1 YEAR from approval date to the date of visa on hand.... so keep the spirit up... you're almost there...

been married since March 2005 but it took me a year to file too.... my fault.... for some reason.... but hey my friend, you're almost there.... we all get this...

Thank you sam..really appreciate your help!!

Is it normal like still i can log in the website..My case was completed on jan 21st according to AVR message..

Thanks!!

Pretty, to be honest, I have no idea why you can still log in. According to the experiences of several people on VJ that have filed I-130, from posts I have read, log-in to the account usually fails one or two days before AVR says case complete. Same thing happened in my case. But that may not mean that there's something wrong with your case. Since AVR already says your case is complete, I won't be worried, but just to be DOUBLE SURE, you might want to call and talk to an NVC operator.

I know it can be really hard coming and going every year and believe me I know how you feel, my spouse has been doing that for the past 4 years. So have faith in God and you'll get there.

I never got an approvel I never got nothing but the Reciept notice that they recieved my payment and gave me the eac number. Now this transfer notice.. I"M SOOOO CONFUSED ON.

TAX INFO

U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad - Nonresident Alien Spouse

Election to File Joint Return

If, at the end of your tax year, you are married and one spouse is a U.S. citizen or a resident alien and the other is a nonresident alien, you can choose to treat the nonresident as a U.S. resident. This includes situations in which one of you is a nonresident alien at the beginning of the tax year, but a resident alien at the end of the year, and the other is a nonresident alien at the end of the year.

If you make this choice, the following rules apply:

You and your spouse are treated, for income tax purposes, as residents for all tax years that the choice is in effect

You must file a joint income tax return for the year you make the choice

Each spouse must report his or her entire worldwide income on the joint income tax return

Social Security Number

If your spouse is a nonresident alien and you file a joint or separate return, your spouse must have either a Social Security Number (SSN) or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). To get an SSN for your spouse, apply at a social security office or US consulate. You must complete Form SS-5. You must also provide original or certified copies of documents to verify your spouse's age, identity, and citizenship. If your spouse is not eligible to get an SSN, he or she can file Form W-7 with the IRS to apply for an ITIN. Refer to Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN) for more information.

Thanks SweetApple for the link. Reading thru now I think it is clear to me now that it is actually up to one to choose whichever status u choose to file with. Either jointly or otherwise, but the site makes it clear that it might be more advantageous to file jointly, i guess as per tax credits returned each year, but for us, i think we'll leave the status as it is till later when we join him in the States.
