Hey Sam,

My PD is 26th july 2006,and my I130 was approved last week, hence i was confused as to what is the next step,do i wait for them to send me sumthing in mail or should i contact them?

SMARTSUD,

Congratulations on your I-130 approval! Oh yeah, if I were in your shoes I will start calling NVC. The first thing is for you to get an NVC case number. After that, things should start happening quickly. You will start receiving bills, forms and request for the beneficiary's civil documents. Since your priority date is very close to becoming current, you need to start getting ready for NVC processing so as not to slow yourself down. I recommend taking time to read LingChe NVC Shortcuts on http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut.

Good luck!

Hello pple! It's really been a a long long lomg time, and am so glad to see us all progressing in our journeys. SAMKUNLE, reading back all the posts I'ld like to say your contributions are all well appreciated.

Mitch, how have you been keeping on? It really does help to know one is not alone in all of this.

Just to let the house know that we got our Choice of Agent and the AOS bill on friday the 15th, and boy were we shocked! We honestly weren't expecting to hear from NVC until sometime in April! I have replied them via e-mail but they keep sending me the forms everyday, i wonder why that is???????? This pple are really on top of their game now and i would suggest we all get our documents all ready, to avoid wasting time when the day comes that they are needed.

Can somebody tell me how to make a timeline? I think it saves us alot of writing and re-writing.

So nice to see us all progressing.

All,

I have some good news: my wife just received interview appointment from NVC for March 31 in Lagos, Nigeria. It's really exciting to finally be at this stage... even though I was hoping for an earlier date in March. It's also nice to hear that quite a number of the folks here in this forum are making some progress in their case processing.

ADMIRE, It's great to have you back on VJ. And congratulations again on your case. It really does appear NVC is stepping up on processing pending cases, considering that you have a Dec 06 priority date. This should be goodnews for everyone here in this forum waiting to be contacted by NVC. On creating timelines, the quickest way I found for the benefit of everyone on the forum is to go to your profile and create a "forum signature" of your timeline. You will need to manually type everything out. There might be other ways others might want to share with you.

PRETTY2009, congratulations on completing your case! I am happy for you. Your interview appointment is just around the corner. You will be given all your original documents on your interview day. If I remember correctly, your priority date is current for February so I will expect an interview appointment in the next couple of weeks. And just like Jim/Michelle said, it is a good idea to call NVC and talk to an operator if you are really anxious or if there is a delay.

SMARTSUD, I live in California.

PRETTY, the interview letter will give you some details of the documents you will need for your interview. Also, read interview preparation guide on the NVC website in the following link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html.

In addition, you will likely need additional supporting evidence like pictures, email records, phone logs. I have created a package of photos, email records, phone records and travel records and mailed to my wife in preparation for her interview. But much will depend on the US consulate that will conduct your husband's interview. My wife will be interviewing with the Nigerian US consulate, which deals with plenty of visa applicants with the intention of commiting visa fraud. From my research, the Nigerian US consulate usually requires a lot of evidence to prove that a marriage is legitimate. You might want to read reviews by people that have gone for interviews in the consulate where your husband will be interviewing. You should be able to find very useful posts on interview experiences for your country in the following link: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.p...=&dfilter=5.

Jeanette, congrats on starting your IV processing with the NVC. I am assuming you are refering to the DS3032 form, the Choice of Agent form. To submit a choice of agent request by email, follow the instructions in the link: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form. You do not need to scan and email the DS3032 form. I advise that you send the email right away since it takes at least 10 days before NVC reads the email. You may follow up by mailing a hardcopy of your signed DS3032 form when it is generated by NVC.

With regards to checking the status of your case, I am not aware of an NVC website for checking the status of NVC cases. The best way is by phone: 1 603 334 0700. Also, your online NVC account to the IV invoice payment website through which you guys will be making payments to the NVC will be used to know when your payments for the AOS bill and the IV bill have been accepted and when you can submit the required documents requested. The account can also be used as a rough guide to determine when your case is completed. On the day you are no longer able to log on to that account, you will know your case has been completed.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the NVC processing through the links on VJ and through the NVC website.

Good luck!

Good luck!
