Guys this is really a bad news :( ... F2A category is affected with the retrogression, January 2011 visa bulletin is out and it is January 2008, i'm afraid that this will affect our case  , our PD is Sept. 2008 and our case completed last October 22, we are on our 7th week of waiting for our interview appointment...

you can marry him then petition him under F2A visa, then you can just upgrade the petition if you will be a citizen if incase papers under F2a visa isn't current yet. Whichever comes first atleast the paper is already filed in USCIS. Time is gold. Goodluck on your journey.

About the retrogression, I spoke with NVC a few minutes ago and the person I spoke with said that if we're given a schedule before January 1st, then we're not affected by the retro, but if not then unfortunately they go by the PD of that month. So technically, right now (December, where the PD is August 2010), we (or our spouses) can still be interviewed and given a visa as long as we get the schedule before the end of December. But if don't get scheduled (I really hope it won't happen), then we're screwed. sad.gif

There's still hope for us. Let's keep praying.. good.gif

Hi Kim, i just want to be clear about this and make sure I understand you correctly.

You mean if you received Interview Appointment before January 1 (even if the interview date will fall January 2011 or later) you are not affected by retrogression? Did I get it right.

Thank you so much for the update and for calling NVC.

GOD BLESS US ALL!!!

Were you able to call the hotline ate?... kim 11 said if the interview happens before December ends, visa will still be available if after that, it will be put on hold coz effective Jan. 2011, pd Jan2008/earlier will only be given visas.. sad. :(
