Many Congrats to you arashh. My PD is Jan 2007, but I have just been approved and still waiting for NVC to receive my case. I donno how long is it taking these days. But congrats to you for your interview schedule. Good Luck to your spouse.

i think 2006 f2a every1 got there firts step at nvc and maybe within months or 2 months later u will recieve further notice...this is just wishing u best of luck...just keep praying...

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

How long is it taking NVC these days to receive case after the date of approval? Any idea Chakadol or other folks?

after approval it goes NVC and then NVC contac'ts the applicant and petitioner when case is about to bcome current in visa buletin and then time depends on how fast u are sending docs to NVC and how fast they are clearing ur case.. i hope i made u clear..

after my husband received the approval notice..i got an assigned case number from NVC after two weeks...i'm not sure though if it happens to everyone..

Guys what will happen if my ds230 is at NVC already and my AOS documents is not yet in NVC... i need your ideas vj family.

NVC will sent u an RFE/checklist via email or letter that will be looking for ur AOS as lacking documents..furthermore, NVC cannot complete ur case if AOS is lacking.. it will delay the processing.. so once ur $70 fee showed paid online..go ahead and prepare the documents and once its ready mail it.. :thumbs:

it depends actually.. like on my case at the time NVC processing was slow, I got the approval notice from USCIS last August 2009 then the NVC assigned me a case number about Nov same year then January 2010 was the time that the NVC started collecting fees(AOS/IV fee) and the rest was history..

And today, it should not be any longer since NVC is processing faster than my time.. so goodluck on your journey, it should be closer..sooner :thumbs:

Odne, thats ok now, its quite a bit faster nowadays compared to my time since NVC was processing slow.. but at this point of time, we are so lucky that they are back on the ball game... so cheers to that.. NVC is working faster on every case.. thats y the wait is not that long compared to the one applying years back..

Reason why I am asking is lots of VJ friends in here who were approved months ago but their files were not sent to NVC for a while. I am little bit scared too. But I am keeping my finger crossed and hoping for next week that NVC will assign me a case number and start colleting documents.

this is just an opinion by i think NVC have their hands full lately..and i noticed some discrepancies..the visa bulletin were MArch 2009 tomorrow but a lot of 2009 filers haven't got their approvals yet..

Don't worry, your mail has been delivered at NVC on a Saturday and no one would receive your mail because NVC is only open Monday-Friday. NVC will just pick-up your mail on Monday at the post office.
