Hello everyone. Thought I'ld throw this question in to you guys already living in the USA.

My husband, who is a LPR says for his tax purposes he files as single since i am not physically present in the States with him. I just want to ask if that's what the rest of you are doing and if that isn't how you are filing, what do u think? When I brought this up, he reseached and came up with the idea of me getting an Individual Taxpayers Identification Number (ITIN).

Please reply me with as much info as you can. Thanks in advance.

HI LPR's and LPR Spouses,

we're already processing our Ds230.. I was about to download the DS230 Form (& read instructions) in state.gov website but unfortunately, the link given is error or down.. the problem is, we want to know the instructions and list of requirements to attached our IV Package before I send it back to NVC.

Another thing, for our AOS my hubby just got his job for less than a month now so is it okey if his Aunt will be our ONLY sponsor not him.. some forum said that even if he don't have a job right now, he MUST also filed an AOS as one of my Sponsor..

can anyone enlighten me please.. THANKS..

Thanx Mitch for that response. Read a whole lot on it too from past pple's experience and learnt it's ok to file as single and that it shouldnt pose a problem at the interview since the IRS states clearly that u can elect to be single for tax purposes.

It feels good to know that he isnt the fore-runner of that choice. Now I can allow him breath easy.

Hey Mitch, congrats on ur approval. I know that sweet feeling of knowing that ur file was not completely being stashed aside and that it was recentlt touched.

Congrats again, and yes all u need do now is wait for NVC to post a mail to the beneficiary explaining that they got ur case off USCIS and notifying u of ur Case number and Priority Date.

After then u have to wait for further instructions but u (ur hubby - beneficiary) can go ahead and send them an email naming u as his Choice of Agent. See the NVC shortcut link in VJ to see how to properly do that. U will get an acknowlegement back from them.

Good luck to all of us.

As for me I cant wait for the next visa bulletin to be out!!!
