Hi there! I've got my interview passed and I'd like to share with my experience with those who are going to take it.

So, the line for our - immigrant - visa is separate. First, they allow to come in the non-immigrant applicants, then us.

I had the appointment at 8. When I got in, i got an number on an automatic machine and then went to the far room - closer to the exit. You may go to either the 5th or the 6th window and give them your number with something I don't remember what it was. Then I waited for a while. They showed my number on a digital display (up near the cashier's window). I gave the papers to a special man, paid for the visa 131 $. Then I took a seat in the room and waited for the interview. It took 15 mins when my name was called. I was the first. The ambassador looked through my papers and began asking me questions: when we met, when he proposed, when we plan to marry, if he came to Russia, what his profession is. He didn't ask for any evidence that we are still talking to each other, but be prepared to show pics, emails and that stuff - because as I know from some other girls they were asked to show pics etc. In 10 mins I received the visa and left the building!

That's it!

Any questions? I'd love to answer them ;)

Congratulations Katia, and thanks for sharing! Curious as to how they treated you--were they rude or courteous?

They were very courteous to me! The ambassador was very polite, listened to me very carefully.

I speak English and I mentioned that in the immigration form, so the interview was in English. But if you barely speak it, ambassadors speak Russian to you!!! ;)

I was waiting for a post like this so I could add Luba's info from her interview on June 25. No sense in starting another thread.

1. How did you get acquainted with your fiance?

2. When did you met him?

3. How many times have you met with him?

4. What is the name of your fiance?

5. How many times has he been to Russia?

6. What is your fiance's occupation?

7. Where does he work?

8. Why did you decide to get married?

9. When do you go to the U.S.A.? (August 23rd)

10. When will your wedding be? (September 5th)

She added he did not even look at the documentation of a relationship, which was a half inch thick. Luba's interview was in Russian and she said everyone was very nice. From the moment she went in the building at 8:00 until she exited was 2 and 1/2 hours.
