John and I aren't photo people either...so I had my mom send me some pics that she took and insisted on having when she came to visit or when we met them in Vegas.

Speaking of envelopes...I sent a bunch of copies of those, some from each Christmas we were married and Anniversaries.

Had my biometrics done today in Alexandria, VA. It was a breeze compared to the last time I went (for AOS). The woman who took them was very friendly and I even made her laugh! Didn't think that was possible for USCIS workers :P

Anyway, she was able to capture my fingerprints with no problems...for AOS the guy was HORRIBLE and kept getting the 'failed' message. She kept on going and when she was doing my last finger said, "I'm pretty good huh?" after not missing one, the last one came up 'failed' I told her she jinxed herself.

All in all done within 45minutes. Oh and there were no guards there this time. Weird.

Sorry to butt in here, as I am not doing ROC for quite some time. But my question is, is it too early to start gathering evidence? Are any of you sending in proof from 2 years ago, or is it more recent proof? I am wondering if I should start a folder now and start putting stuff in, so in 2 years I'm not running around going crazy

The way I did it... I am pretty ####### retentive about keeping financial and other records. So I just gathered all my records one weekend and picked and chose. Photocopying was a breeze.

Never too early.

Ditto Len

Have everything since i moved here in a filer....just picked stuff from when we married to now. I just didnt include every single month for the monthly statements, more like every 3-4 months.

By the way I sent my USPS cerrtified. Just to know it got there. Cost me $7.75 and all fit in the enveloppe. It was about 1/2 inch thick.

Definitely not too early, Jill. I have a ROC folder in my email and an immigration folder on my desktop. I also have a ROC box for paper documents. Even with that kind of quasi-preparedness, I am still finding it onerous going through everything. If I had been more organized I would have just printed out two copies of everything and kept them in one place so that I could just fill in the blanks and send it off. Oh well. Live and learn.

Silly question - we don't list Don's kids....just my daughter - she's the only one involved with this application - do you really include your's

Yes, I included mine because the form says to list all children. I guess the only useful purpose which I can see for listing children who are not immigrating is for future considerations. For example, should my children ever decide they wanted to emigrate to the United States, their existence is readily seen on my own immigration records. If they weren't on there then I'm assuming there would be a speedbump in processing.

And.. we always took pictures with USCIS in mind.. in fact we don't say cheese anymore we say "USCIS" :)

Oh MY once again back in the arms of the USCIS ( blah ) , let me tell ya I am gonna make myself not look at the web site 40 times a day like I did for AOS :) I hope, this is of course once we can see the case on line which will be a while. My main concern is my husband's driver's license, it is a Class A and expires in December of 2009. The DMV here in Jersey are not the sharpest tools in the shed nor the brightest crayons in the box. Hoping for the best and getting this darn card before the DL expires. Antsy again here with the wait and wait for the next thing to appear.

I lived filing many differnt things in a folder named conditions since we got married. Incredible when say you want to get even a subsciption to a magazine you say oh yeah let's put it in both of our names. Thinking at every turn what can we use as evidence to prove our relationship is still in tact? Incredible the hoops we jump through and then on to the N-400 for the same thing just adding stuff from this year until next :)

Yes I did include ALL of our children and I am really scared for an RFE for say Biometrics for the boys even though in the USCIS system they can see that the kids are not eiligible to remove conditions yet. This is what has me the most worried............

What the heck?? He's a permanent resident! Oh never mind. Florida gave me my driver's license until 2014.... six years. Mind you, they only made the first driver's license good for a year. But, yeah.... I can imagine you'd be antsy with that kind of deadline looming over. Personally, I don't really care at this point. I figure by the time I receive the 10-year card I'll have applied for citizenship. icon2.gif

ALEXANDRIA? I had no idea there was an office there - now how come I ended up at Fort Belvoir the last time I did biometrics for the AOS? I live in Centreville/Chantilly so Alexandria would obviously be closer

Same one...just has an Alexandria address. It's not in Olde Town (thank goodness! I'd hate to think what parking would be like!) I should have gone on a day off just to see if I could have gone earlier.

I did get there about an hour beforehand, and they didn't care about the time.

Oh, and they've expanded the inside. All of the fingerprinting is behind glass now in a separated room.

The lady was definitely funny...looked at my address and said "Berryville huh...you drive far. Ever go to Charles Town casino???"

My answer was "But of course!" :P:D

Hey people - reading the ROC forum I unearthed a post that talked about WALK-IN BIOMETRICS. Some folks have been able to do it before their appointment, usually if they have a valid reason. It does not always work; but it's something we might want to think about for those of us who have cooler things to do, like vacations :P
