You're heading to Alexandria right? When I went, (although it was at 1pm) they weren't that busy, plus, they weren't as stringent as the first time I went for the 2yr card where they had the security guard check your paperwork to make sure you were there for THAT day.

You shouldn't have an issue just bringing your daughter with you. No security guard, and pretty laid back

Ack - I remember the security guard, last time we went the room was full and it was mid afternoon, this time we're showing up whenever they open despite our appt being for 9 am....I wish I could go early and get it done like today :)

You could always try and go today if you have time. I didn't just because I never thought of going early, but I believe some people have done that....even at Alexandria.

Like I said, the woman who took my paperwork, barely glanced at it. No security, and was hardly busy at all.

My new card was here waiting for me when I got back from my hols. Picture sucks. <_<

Next stop; citizenship. I am now abandoning this thread. :hehe: If anyone wants to continue the averaging, here is how I worked it out:

Counting length of time until approval:

- count from NOA date to approval date in weeks

- round to closest half week

Averaging time until approval:

- add up all approved times for each service center (i.e. 4.5 + 4 + 4.25...)

- divide that sum by the number of people approved

- the average is the result

Averaging time from approval to receipt of greencard:

- count business days (USCIS business days, not USPS business days) from approval to receipt of greencard

- add up all days it took for each person to receive their greencard

- divide by the number of people

- the result is your average

I'm glad to hear Treble and NArocks' hubby were able to get their driver's licenses. Great to see you back again, Tinker! :luv: I've missed you.

greetings fellow timbit lovers!

i've been putting together the package for nessa's removal of conditions, this is the list so far of what i've assembled:

general:

-i 751

-check ($545 - $465+$80 biometrics)

-copy front and back of green card

-notification to renew

-copy of driver's license

-copy of military cac cards

-copy of mil id cards

sworn affidavits:

-3

bank/credit cards:

-copy of usaa checking (nov and dec)

-copy of local checking (nov and dec)

-copy credit card (joint)

taxes:

-2008

-2007

-2006

insurance:

-car insurance policy and insurance cards

- sbp paper shown on retirement account statement

- farmer's life insurance

- tricare insurance cards and assorted bills

- work papers showing on insurance (2009 and 2008 enrollments)

- delta dental bill of vanessa

property:

- vehicle titles (car, truck, trailer)

- intro letter and house transfer on death deed

- water bills

other:

- birth certificate - ben

- pictures

- post cards (neighbor, nessa's mother, and sister of charles)

------------------

now for the "dumb questions"

1. as noted above under property, there is a transfer on death deed for the house. the reason for this is i bought the house in 2003, before nessa and i met/married. citimortgage (:ranting:) refused to add her to the title unless i refinanced the house - about 5-7k out of pocket for that. the base JAG office suggested a transfer on death deed, which i did and filed at the county courthouse.

- has anyone heard of this being used before as nessa isn't on the house title?

2. the taxes were filed electronically - do i need to include the entire form 1040 and the form 8879 (irs efile signature authorization).

3. how important are w-2's to be included with the above?

4. am i missing anything?

It looks like you have a complete package, Charles. I wouldn't worry about the house title. Lots of people have/had the same situation so I'm sure it's not a surprise to them. I think that the transfer on death deed is a good replacement. I don't know what a w-2 is so I'm guessing it's not important since I didn't include any. LOL. I'm guessing it's the equivalent of Canada's T-4 employment information slips so, no, I didn't include those. With the taxes..... ours were filed electronically, also, so I just included a hard copy of the 1040's (with all the financial information blacked out).
