Wordddd. NJ only gives DL's for as long as the immigration documents last as well.

Some states are just more stringent than others. We have a lot of illegal immigrants in our state that have fake id or no id at all, but some other state probably don't have as much of a problem with that as we do.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

A friend told me they gave her cr@p at her interview because, like us, they have no kids.

I so hope we don't get interview. <_<

I'm thinking we won't get an interview but there were times when I was going through AOS when I wished for one just to get it over with...... because I saw all these people getting interviews and approvals in about half the time it was taking for mine. I'd actually like to see them challenge us on our legitimacy based upon the fact that we don't have kids together. What an idiotic stance.

hope you dont mind me butting in.... I had no interview until the N400, and the CO asked me if we planned to have children together, and I laughed at him, I am well past menopause and my oldest would be more than a little shocked since he is 35 this year...

so no i wont be having a kid to prove our relationship, and no I didnt change my name either, I was approved btw, so it isnt all bad. ROC isnt too bad, the waiting times dont look as long but you still need some of the originals for the N400 interview, and the info from the other applications, so dont shred any of your copies yet.

The biometrics can be done at most places on a walkin, once you have the appointment letter and you wont have any problem going out of the country as long as you have the NOA that extends the greencard expiry for a year.

good luck

Hey everone,

Got the NOA and Biometrics notice today. The NOA address was wrong on the envelope(numbers transeposed) and our mailman figured it was important so when bio letter arrived he gave us both. Might explain why some folks haven't received their NOAs yet.

Please update: NOA 08/27/09.....

Biometrics 09/24/09

thanks!

A quick off-topic interjection . . . I applied for a job about 2 years after Joe and I got married (and then withdrew my application when they changed the job description to lower the wage to $6 an hour from $10). I found out from a friend who worked at the same place though that I wouldn't have got the job because, according to one of the interviewing Members of the Board I was a "newlywed" and would obviously not stay with the job very long because I would want to have a baby . . . I was 51 years old at the time, past menopause and with a 35 year old step-daughter. Ok, back to the main topic!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Anyone who has a Cadbury bar in their avatar is obviously a person with great taste. You are welcome here anytime.

We still get asked if we're going to have kids..... at least 5 or 6 times a year. I guess we should all feel good about the fact that we still look young enough to bear them.

Going for my biometric appointment on Thursday. Seems like a pretty painless process so far - just fill out another application and send them another $500ish.

The I-751 says to include fingerprints with the documentation. Is this necessary, or do we wait for the bio appt?

thanx,

jimnshirl
