How about your tax transcripts? did you file jointly?

how about state IDs or driver's licenses showing same address?

Hmm..was my husband has been bad and hasn't changed his state ID addy in oh...5 years, haha. Tax transcripts will work though! Thanks for bringing that one up, it didn't even occur to me

What about health insurance statements or registration for employment benefits (name of spouse, etc.), magazine subscriptions - even junk mail with his name on it (surely you have some of those credit card or insurance applications coming in, hehehehe); car registration or repair/maintenance records?

Ooh car registration...definitely going to have to look into that one :star:

Here was our list:

  • Check for $545.00 U.S.D.
  • I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence
  • Copy of Permanent Resident Card for Carla M. C
  • Two affirmed affidavits by U.S. citizen friends, attesting to our relationship and marriage.
  • Copy of our Marriage License from the State of Missouri, County of St. Louis
  • Copy of Nuptials Notification in local paper the Oakville Call
  • Three sheets of pictures of times together alone and with family over the last few years
  • Copies of both Carla C's Gene C's Drivers Licenses
  • Copy of Designation of Beneficiary for Civil Service Retirement System, Unpaid Compensation of Deceased Civilian Employee, and Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance Program
  • Copy of letter from Carla’s previous employer in Canada showing beneficiary change for life insurance
  • Copy joint savings and checking accounts in both our names
  • Copy of joint Visa card statement
  • Copies of 2007 and 2008 1040 U.S. Income Tax Return showing Married filing jointly
  • Utility Bills in joint names
  • Discover Customer Service adding Carla as authorized user
  • BCBS Explanation of Benefits showing Carla’s usage as joint beneficiary of health benefits
  • Note from Auto insurance agent as well as Auto Renewal of Insurance in joint names
Copies of greeting cards from family and spouse on special occasions

It was about 2 inches thick. Have received my NOA1, no biometrics letter yet. We didn't change over the title of the house from just Gene's name to both our names due to the unnecessary cost that we didn't think we should have to incur.

Good luck you guys!

Thanks for the list, Carla.

So.... I won't be filing today. My husband did not bring the information from his employer which I had requested. :bonk:

Sorry to hear that. One thing you want to remember Krikit, is that you're going on vacation as well. You might want to see about your timing, and what service centre is going to be processing your application. I was eligible to apply for ROC on May 21st, but didn't put mine in until the second week of June. The reason being is that I sent mine to CSC and from some of the timelines, my biometrics appointment might have been when I was away last week and I didn't want to change my vacation plans. So, I put off sending mine in. As it turned out, I got my NOA1 while I was away, and if things go according to plan, I should have my biometrics appointment around mid July. I think you're going back to Canada for vacation this summer? Something to think about, not alarm you though!

Thanks Carla. I'm with Vermont so it looks like the biometrics are scheduled about 4-6 weeks after filing. I'm just going to do a drop-in if my appointment falls during the time that I'm away.

So.... I won't be filing today. My husband did not bring the information from his employer which I had requested. :bonk:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I was all ready!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Hello ROC Filers, one thing I didnt see in your list of things to include in your package is a copy of your green card (front and back) and you have to include the little card holder that your green card was sent in. Hope this helps.
