You can always pop into your local office and ask if they will take you then
lol... just found that funny.... my local office I have to go to is a 4 1/2 drive away. So I have a nice 9 hours of driving that day for a 30 min appointment. I don't know why that can't just do it at the port - they have all the equipment there for it.

 Yes I had a friend who had to do the biometrics at an ASC for AOS in Fargo...4.5 hours away...but then she and her husband also got summoned for an AOS interview..the closest Field Office......in St. Paul, MN! An 8 hour drive from home one way! Thank goodness they live in Seattle now!

Do they require an interview when you are removing conditions?

Newark is about 1 hr away from me now..couldn't imagine driving 8 flaming hours.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Do they require an interview when you are removing conditions?

Sometimes, although it is very rare. Usually if you get an interview and you've included good evidence it is for 'statistical' purposes - they need to interview so many cases and your number is the lucky one chosen. They are kind of 'in and out' based on the experiences of those who have had them.

Piece-a-cake! Montreal was WAY further away than that.

I was thinking that exact same thing...

Newark, New Jersey and "piece of cake" should NEVER be put in the same sentence together.

It may only be an hour away, but that's an hour that I've gotta drive into Hell on earth.

My process isn't going easy at all so far, to say the least. I have loads of evidence to prove that I'm here, and that I've been living in all three of our previous residences, but I'm having a heck of a time proving that my husband has been there too, lol. I have credit card statements from my Capital One card for myself (among a load of other things), but the only mail my husband received during the initial 6 months or so is bank statements from a bank account that has long ago been closed. I have some things with his address on it for more recent months (6 months ago, etc,) but nothing for the first few months...I'm getting ready to pull out my hair.

Oh right! Tax transcripts.

I've been using these two posts for reference:

Kathryn's List

Emancipation's List

Plus I'm printing off all the travel reservations we have had over the years.... as well as our upcoming reservations. I'd have to be looney to go on vacations with someone I didn't like.

What about health insurance statements or registration for employment benefits (name of spouse, etc.), magazine subscriptions - even junk mail with his name on it (surely you have some of those credit card or insurance applications coming in, hehehehe); car registration or repair/maintenance records?
