Quick question I can't recall...

Is the 1 year extension from the NOA1 valid from the NOA1 date or from the expiration of our GC ?

That is a good question, Me thinks it is from the expiration date on the card. I will look ovr the letter tonight as I do not carry it with me :)

I-751 mailed 6/30/09 aapproved 11/7/09 The BOYS I-751 Mailed 12/29/09 3/23/10 Email approval for 17 CR 3/27/10
4/14/10 Email approval for 13 yr Old CR 4/23/10

Oldest son now 21 I-130 filed by LPR dad ( as per NVC CSPA is applying here )
I-130 approved 2/24
Priority date 12/6/2007
4/6/2010 letter from NVC arrives to son dated 3/4/2010
5/4/10 received AOS and DS3032 via email
9/22/10 Interview BOG Passed
10/3/10 POE JFK all went well
11/11/10 GC Received smile.png

But, I'm hoping we don't have to worry about that, and we'll all be approved in 4-6 months :P

And good Lord, I check this morning and come back 2.5hrs later and it's two pages longer than when I left! :lol:

The letter doesnt say. I just read it again. All it says is that we get a 1 year extension period and within this period we are able to travel and work legally.

Ok - voice of experience - my long wait was worth something after all!

The NOA extends the validity of your green card by one year, so if your green card expires August 21, 2009, the NOA extends its validity to August 21, 2010. You need to use the NOA letter and green card in conjunction - together they now make one document. So, it is the green card date that counts, not the date on the NOA.

If you get the I-551 stamp, however, it is stamped a year from the date of getting the stamp (I never received an NOA letter :-().
