What worries me about the cruise is that it is in September.... with our luck, they would call for biometrics that precise week <_< ---but since it seems you can request an earlier date I might just do that. Cruise is with my parents, to Alaska (I really want to see if you can see Russia from the ship :hehe: )

let me look up the "how to send your stuff" from USCIS ***runs off***

found it. Special page on VJ... this is too long to copy and paste -_-

Nice! I'd like to do an Alaskan cruise. Flames just came back from his and he said it was fabulous

You can always pop into your local office and ask if they will take you then, or at a mutually agreeable time, if your biometrics appointment is scheduled for while you're away. That's what I'm going to do.... they took me like that when I did my AOS and didn't seem to mind.

Thanks for the link.

Are we filling out the same application? I've got about an inch of documentation so far, and I've just started!

I didn't send that much. Copies of the kids BC's. Copy of statement of our joint account. Copy of our joint mortgage and car loan. That's it. Like I have said in different thread.... I definately didn't have kids just to "fake" a marriage to live in the US. lol

lol... just found that funny.... my local office I have to go to is a 4 1/2 drive away. So I have a nice 9 hours of driving that day for a 30 min appointment. I don't know why that can't just do it at the port - they have all the equipment there for it.

Well, I'm not having anymore kids whether I want to fake a marriage or not! Could you imagine? Who in their right mind would have kids as a way to "prove" a marriage? But this means you have more evidence than I do! Darnit!!!

Whooo! :o

Mine's only 45 mins away. But I did know that Len's was local so that's why I said it that way.

A friend told me they gave her cr@p at her interview because, like us, they have no kids.

I so hope we don't get interview. <_<

I'm thinking we won't get an interview but there were times when I was going through AOS when I wished for one just to get it over with...... because I saw all these people getting interviews and approvals in about half the time it was taking for mine. I'd actually like to see them challenge us on our legitimacy based upon the fact that we don't have kids together. What an idiotic stance.

Oh cool! Another filer! Aww, geez. I see your biometrics are about a month after your filing. I guess I'm gonna have to do the drop-in thing since that timeline coincides nicely for when I'm away. icon2.gif I'm going to include a copy of our airline reservations. I bet you anything they don't pay attention to it.

Wooo! My name is in the title of a thread!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Good luck everyone with your filing. Our final application was about 2 1/2 " thick but that is because we had evidence from 4 years of marriage by the time we were allowed to apply to remove conditions. I used a blank sheet of paper between each 'section' of evidence and put a coloured tab on the bottom to show there was a separation. Then on that blank divider sheet I put a list of the documents in that section. I definitely highlighted both of our names on the different documents I sent, as well as account numbers if they were associated with both names. Since I am not on the mortgage or house deed I also highlighted where the mortgage payment amount comes out of our joint chequing account each month so they can see that we are 'both' paying the mortgage.

Krikit - they aren't going to have reviewed any of your documents before your trip so no, they won't see that your trip is upcoming and in potential conflict with your biometrics. They seem to be fairly easy-going about biometrics though, so if you receive your biometrics appointment before you go and it will be while you are away you can either try to do a walk-in or send the form back to request a re-schedule and give the dates you are not available. It is unlikely that the appointment will come while you are away for when you are still away but if that happens again you should be able to do a walk-in and bring proof that you were out of town when the notification arrived.

One of my favourite pieces of 'evidence' is that in 2004 we were jointly audited by the IRS so I included that documentation as well - I figured if the IRS audits the both of you that is pretty good evidence you are together:-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
