I guess I should join this thread as well. I could have filed June 30th, but we have a trip to Disney World planned in August and I knew that if I sent my ROC in now, I'd have crappy luck and my bio appt would be scheduled when we're away. So, I am waiting... I plan on sending it in at the last possible moment before we leave, which should be around August 14th. I hate to wait so long but my local office is a lovely 5ish hour long drive one way so it'll probably end up being an overnighter like it was for my AOS bio appt. It's also quite a drive to attempt a walk-in type thing, so alas, I must wait. Damn timing!

Anyhow, until then, I shall learn from your experiences. :D

And can I just say that I am jealous that they have cashed your cheques, guys? I feel like you're two lengths ahead of me. Having a competitive nature sux.

Ahhh for Christ's sake!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

So, had my biometrics appointment. It was pretty painless other than the 9 hour roundtrip of driving. Appointment was at 3:00 but I got there early at 2:00 and there was nobody else there waiting so the lady took me in right away and did it. Maybe took 15 min. max. Fill out a form, confirm your info, take fingerprints - some of my fingers were hard to read but eventually she got some acceptable scans, then a quick picture and out the door and a 4.5 hour drive home.

Now we wait for months

It's nice to get it out of the way though...even though it was a long drive.

Now we wait for months

My husband thought I got my new greencard right there and then. I'm like "nope" I'm still not even approved yet and there is the possibility (very slight) that we may have to go to Minneapolis for an interview to confirm our marriage is legit.
