Don't tie your tubes! Get an IUD. You're WAY too young, so many people your age who do it regret it later.

not just yes, but HECK yeah!!!!!!

if i wind up with a c/s, then they need to tie, cut, burn, clip, whatever those tubes while in there!!!!!! if not, and this baby comes vag, then it will be off to the docs office with hubby for a little snip-snip

we are happy that we have this baby... he was not, however, planned... we take our responsibility for our children very seriously and want to provide for them as they deserve... and knowing what our goals and means are in life, we know that 2 children are quite enough of a blessing...

there are a lot of girls (note i did not say women) out there who just have kid after kid for all sorts of reason... and its all fine and good as long as they take their responsibilities seriously... from what i see on a daily basis where i work, more often than not, its just for another welfare check, child support, or they dump the kids into the hands of DHS because children would crimp their lifestyle (you know, cant go score some pcp while watching your kid)

Kerwin - I know what you're saying and those are the same thoughts that I am having. I'm worried about whether an IUD will be effective as the last two pregnancies were while I was on birth control. Hubby really wants this to be the last one because he sees how hard life is with two kids and we want to give them the best possible. While I love my sons to death, I keep wondering if in 5 or 8 years we might be thinking "gee it would be nice to have another baby". And I can't help but be scared at the thought of doing something so permenant at 22. I mean gee women still have kids when they're 40 and that's like 18 years from now for me! I would love a little girl, and we have said that we would adopt one if our situation was right down the road. I don't know I'm just conflicted and not willing to do it until I have a solid decision made.

Warning to all men in here: If you let your spouse have kids, then they have the power to divorce you and then the government would automatically find you out as long as you're not hiding inside an underground facility in the USA and take plenty of money as child support. This is serious and can make you go homeless. Please be warned.

ROFLMFAO........If you took care of your responsibilities the government would have no reason to chase you down anywhere....punk! Classic case of somebody who shouldn't be allowed to breed in the first place.

@anxious....LOL, sorry if you got an eyeful of TMI!

@Hannoauy....Congratulations & good luck in the months to come!

@ace...hope it's good news for you this month!!!

look i don't wanna spend money on anyone except me and my mother and i'm illegal. my gf in vermont tried her best to talk me into ejaculating in her and i didn't ejaculate fully but i was worried because she told me that my pre-cum was supposed to make her pregnant. but anyways thank god she told me she wasn't pregnant. i don't believe her though. may be if she is, and when the baby comes out, gov is either gonna give me a work permit (oh yes!) to support the kid or arrest or deport me OR tell me to continue working illegally for 3.75 dollars per hour for 10 hours a day from 8 AM to 6 PM and give all the money to the baby's mother and die a nameless death.

You know what? i don't really care for my life anymore. I don't have anything either in my home country or the US

The gf that i am talking about had three kids in total. She has never married. two of her previous kids have been adopted. the last one is about to be adopted. Since she had so many kids and their fathers fled the country, (yes her previous bfs were illegal alien like me too) and the mother (who is too fat and has several mental diseases such as ADD, OCD, anxiety, depression, to name a few) were unable to take care of the kids properly, the government gave her food stamps and a nice two-bedroom apartment to live in and what she does all day is sleep in bed and watch dvds. How is she able to feed herself plenty of times a day and watch cable tv today? because she desperately talked her bfs into giving her kids. This is certainly possible and to all my fellow men friends/enemies in here who are illegal alien/immigrant/would-be immigrant like me, please think quadruple times before making such a decision of waving the condoms goodbye. the mother can willlingly divorce you and claim lots of money as child support. you would have to pay until the kids become 18 years od age. tell your wives that you would have only one kid but not before you get your green card and also not before the condition removal petition has been filed. good luck

@ cessna - I'm sorry for all of the trouble you had with your ex. but let me assure you not all women are the self-less b*tches you think they are. I gave up a lot of dreams that I had for myself when I found out I was pregnant to support and care for my son whose father had the chance to go to law school and live a comfortable life while I worked my way through college. I never asked for any money from him nor at this point do I really want it. What I needed was a son for my father not a paycheck from him. Life in the US is not the dream that it is made out to be in other countries. I know that, my husband has experienced this reality first-hand. I don't know a lot about you, just what you have said in a few posts, and I think that you providing for your family is great. I think your choice of gf may have not been the greatest and I think in that situation you are right, it was best not to have a child with her. But please dont' take your anger and frustrations out on those of us who are happy about our pregnancies/children with our fiances/husbands. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you can find someone who will treat you as you deserve.

WELCOME to all the new preggos. Have a great belly time, enjoy it.

@Cessna: I'm sorry for everything you went through but it always takes two to tango. First of all there are rubbers, pills and a brain that should have helped you not to ejaculate in your ex-gf (except that is if she "manipulated" you while you were sleeping or whatever). I hope for you that she is not pregnant and you can stay in the US and continue living here.

As for me. I always wanted children, my husband always wanted children and we made the mutual decision to just have one now. My husband is all excited but scared about the fact that he'll be a "real" daddy soon. I'm not worried. I always did good with children and infants so I feel like I can do it. We want only two children and after the second one my husband would actually go for a little surgery down there in order to prevent further pregnancies. I wouldn't have any problem at all taking the pill though but of course it's not good for your body, although it really helped me with some major PMS cramps.

Peanut is doing good. I had two rough nights this weekend since my husband was either snoring or scratching his skin bloody but last night was pure bliss. I guess I was so tired that I didn't hear anything, not even our dog barking in the middle of the night. Friday is my group B strep test and they'll check whether or not things are moving along in there. I'm so excited. He still didn't drop and it seems (as of right now) that we're having a wonderful 40 week pregnancy (I can still run after our dog in the yard etc. so no problems walking whatsoever).

Amera:

I definitely don't think you should make such a serious decison at your age.

I know alot of doctors who won't even perform the procedure if you are under like 27 yrs of age.

I am pregnant off a low-dose pill, my older sister got pregnant with the IUD, and they

had to remove the IUD ASAP, and the baby was unharmed thank God.

I understand how you want something fool proof as well, but just think all scenarios through...

I know two women who are trying to reverse the tubals and it is straining their marriage.

One who was widowed, and met her second husband who didn't have kids and she's trying to

reverse it for him. Another who lost her only child to a car accident and just wants

to have another one.

This was definitely unplanned for me, but such is life. I understand what you feel about the finances

as well, there are so many methods now.

If your husband wants this child to be "the last one", has he heard of a VASECTOMY?

Yes, we've discussed both of these options but right now he doesn't have insurance and I do (long complicated story) and other various reasons that he gives. I've so far decided not to make any decision about sterliziation right now, I think it's best to wait 3-5 years at least and then decide.

SO I had to go to page 13 or something to find this. How are the February mom's to be holding out? No updates from anyone recently. Check-in and let us know how you're doing!

well, an update for here...

when i went in for my 3 hr GTT, my OB/GYN asked if i would be willing to be part of a research project on mild gestational diabetes...

for those of you who dont know yet about the 3 hour GTT (glucose tolerance test), you have your blood drawn before you drink a supersweet liquid and then again each hour for 3 hours afterwards... so, there are 4 blood draws where they check your blood sugar... if your levels are high in 2 or more, you are considered gestationally diabetic and will receive treatment (could just be changing diet or could wind up meaning insulin)... if you are high on only one of the parameters, then you are considered mildly gestationally diabetic and it would be up to your OB/GYN's discretion as to whether you receive treatment or not...

so, this research project is to find out what the benefits are for treating or not treating mildly gestational diabetics... so they need folks who are not at all (a control group) or mildly gestationally diabetic and will place them into one of 2 groups... those receiving treatment and those who dont... they follow your pregnancy and delivery... your doctor does not even know the results of your test unless you are not eligible for the study, in which case, the results are sent to your doctor so you can receive your treatment

well, i got a call from the lady in the research dept and she told me that i was ineligible :( ... and she told me my results... i was high on 3 of the 4 parameters :(( ... so, she was sending the results to my OB/GYN...

so, long and short of it, i know the results of my test and ive been expecting a call from him since last tues... but, i havent heard from him

i have another appt this coming wednesday... hopefully, i will have some answers for my questions... being a nurse, i know so many answers, but when it comes down to you or your own baby, sometimes it just all disappears, you know?

on a brighter note, i had a fetal echocardiogram and even tho the little man wasnt very cooperative (wouldnt turn over so they could see the right side of his heart), what they could see looked fine :))

Keltic, Hopefully a change in diet will help out, you had gestational diabetes before didn't you? I don't envy you doing the 3 hr GTT...It sucks so bad! Good luck with the results!

Amera, maybe right after having the baby isn't the best time to make this huge decision...glad you decided to wait!

As for me, it's been a busy couple of weeks with my mom-in-law in surgery. She's ok after an aortic graft operation. Just a painful recovery ahead.

I had an appointment on Tue and my blood pressure was up again and my ankles were so swollen I could barely bend them. The doctor was going to admit me, but we decided to do bedrest instead. It's kinda nice to be out of work but I'm starting to get bored. It is nice however to see my ankles again....it's been months. We did the 24 hr urine analysis, but I'm expecting it to be ok. I think the doctor is just being cautious, so I'm not too worried. I'll be 38 weeks on Thur so it wouldn't be a big deal to have the baby now anyway. I'm really not too excited about induction so hopefully I can keep the blood pressure down for a few weeks more. I still don't feel like I'm ready yet, although if it were up to me, I don't think I would ever be ready!

I haven't seen Nizzy or Eveline post recently. I think Nizzy is still setting up home but Eveline is usually one to post often....I hope everything is ok with her!

Well gotta go shopping....again. I keep thinking of things we have forgotten to get.....organization is not my forte  !! Take care girls...update soon!
