I'm still not sure if we can do the 3d US yet anyway, my doctor has to authorize it first and they won't do it unless you have had a full diagnostic second trimester ultrasound. Even though we did have a scan in our second trimester, I don't know how diagnostic it was or if it was just for size and dates. I guess they don't want any surprises since they are not using the ultrasound as a medical diagnostic tool, it's just for fun really.

We'll find out tomorrow, I have to go in for the 3-hr glucose tolerance test. The 1-hr came out a little high. What next?.......Blood pressure is back to normal though, thank God.

I hope everything goes great with the test and am glad to hear your blood pressure is back to normal. I have to go in for my blood work before my next appointment, which is next week. The doctor told me I have to drink that icky stuff and wait an hour before they draw the blood. I had to drink that same stuff in the beginning of my pregnancy and it made my throat burn and I felt like upchucking the whole day. I am not looking forward to it at all...

if your 3hr gtt is high as well, they will probably consider you a gestational diabetic... they will teach you about ways to control it with diet and ask you to monitor your blood sugars on a regular basis... if diet fails to control it, they may start you on insulin... it is usually something that goes away when you are not pregnant anymore

good luck with it... hopefully your blood sugar will be just fine ;)

Good luck with your 3 hours Glucose test. I had to done that too when I was on my 28 weeks. The nurse told me to fast from the night before and thanks God it came out great. A little advice tho, you might want to bring some snacks just so you could immediately eat something right after you're done. I was starving to death.

As for your BP (Blood Pressure) I'm so glad to hear that it's normal. I've been on a bed rest since November 5th after I got hospitalized from a high BP and leaking protein in my urine. I have pre-eclampsia and chances are I will have to deliver our baby sooner than the EDD (January 11, 2007). My Doctor is hoping that I would make it over 34 weeks (I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow so YAY!) but I'm praying and hoping that I could 'bake' our baby some more at least until I'm 36-37 weeks.

Oh and about the U/S thingy...I am sure it's safe because if it's not there's no way they would let me have them twice a week to monitor my baby.

To all you ladies, take care and enjoy every bit of your pregnancy!

Irish Eyes, with my first 2 pregnancies I failed the one hour glucose but passed the three hour one....hoping it's the same for you.

With my daughter, this last pregnancy i did end up failing both and was DX Gestational diabetes and eventually ended up on insulin. It kind of sucked but wasn't too bad and I only ended up gaining 21 pounds the whole pregnancy due to the diet.....the baby was fine.

Keeping my finger's crossed for you to pass yoour 3 hour, but if not and you want to talk, let me know!!!

Congrats Sammy on a healthy boy....WOW, it seems like a disproportionate amount of boys being born to VJ'ers......I think Rheinhard and I had the only girls!

LOL....VJ won't let me remove that ticker and it seems to have taken on a life of it's own....I am NOT pregnant again...hahaha

Thanks Kiki...good to know. Will be a week or so before I get results....That was not fun! I had my first cheeseburger in months I was so hungry afterwards....not ideal I know, but I deserved a treat after all those needles! Back at work now and all I want to do is nap!!

Poor Nizzy, luckily I haven't had that itching problem. The only thing I can think of is load up on fluids, try pedialyte or something to get hydrated and restore balance. Other than that, go nuts with a mild moisturizer like Lubriderm, also use soaps for sensitive skin like Dove or Cetaphil.

All that helps when I'm itching is LOTION. I bought Suave for very dry skin and that I put on in layers and it makes my skin feel a lot better and the itching go away.

I wanted to go out for a walk today but it had snowed throughout the night and was still snowing a little. I didn't want to risk falling since the sidewalks weren't shoveled and there was ice everywhere. I love snow though...it makes me so happy!

Ummm, we have about 70 degrees outside right now and turned the AC back on last night while we put up my husbands christmas houses :P . We want to move somewhere in the Mid-West when Eric is out of the Marine Corps. We want four seasons, too.
