We are relocating to Virginia...

Northern (near DC) or elsewhere (Richmond, Blacksburg, Roanoke, etc.)?

I just saw your questions sorry. We are moving to Northern area near DC. It's super expensive so we are still looking for a place to settle into.

You may want to consider parts of MD for home then (though it does make some differences, such as tax rates). Parts of Montgomery, Howard, and incremental of PG (Laurel area) counties may be workable commutes.

(I actually used to commute each day from Laurel to Crystal City for about a year).

Hubby got a job in Annandale so commuting back and forth won't work. But the property prices in MD are so much cheaper and I wish it were a possibility.

Irisheyes, I haven't looked at the website that you posted yet. I have been counting kicks every evening (between 8 and 10pm) and our little one is doing VERY good and gets his 10 kicks usually somewhere between 5-30 minutes. today he's having a lazy day, must be the 40 degree rainy, windy, nasty weather out there...

I hadn't really started counting yet....baby is so active these days, I haven't really been concerned about it. I did have a docs appointment yesterday and apparently my blood pressure is pretty high, like 160/98. I have to monitor it 3 times a day, luckily my MIL has a cuff and monitor, and I also have to do a 24-hr urine analysis. I'm pretty sure it will be ok. I had a particularly busy day yesterday, went straight from work to grocery shopping to doctors, so I'm hoping it was a one off. The urine collection will have to wait 'til Thursday. Can't take the day off work to pee in a bag! ;)

well...

its a boy!

my daughter is so upset... she wanted a sister badly... for the first 40 mins after we found out, she kept pointing at Tobe and saying "its HIS fault!"... we are trying to give her reasons that it is good that its a boy instead of a girl... i guess it will take time

the rest of the family are thrilled... and we can now go look for some blue stuff!

Sammy: Congrats on the job! Don't worry about the test. I had to do it too because I have a sister with Downs and my mom had her at about the same age as me. Everything turned out to be okay but they said to be 100% sure they would have to do an amniocentisis but I refused. Oh and I read something that made me think of you. Altoids has come out with ginger flavored mints that are good for morning sickness.

Keltic: Yayyy another preggy who is having a boy! Congrats!!

congrats KELTIC. Welcome in the "Boys club" haha. I'm sure your little girl will understand soon. It's good to have a little brother, I have one myself (well, he's now 23 and I'm 24) and we had a good time and always someone to play with.

Congratulations to you too Sammy. I can't wait to go back to work and make my own money but until then I'll be busy being pregnant and raising a child.

Well, our Thanksgiving day started off with Peanut not moving. He stopped moving yesterday afternoon and I got only 4 kicks in more than one hour. I thought he might have just been asleep but even after breakfast in the morning he wouldn't move and that freaked me out. So we called and went to Labor and Delivery and I got a big glas of icewater to drink. They also put me on the heart monitor to see the heartbeat and the movements. Well, turns out, everything was just fine. Baby was moving good (I didn't feel anything), the heartbeat was strong and I didn't have any contractions. The doc said I didn't drink enough (I thought I did but I really didn't) which also is why I have those Braxton Hicks Contractions all the time. He checked the amniotic fluid and said that it could be a little more but I and the baby are just fine. They let me go after a good hour and I felt a lot better. First I didn't want to go cause I thought that there are people with worse problems than just a baby that doesn't want to kick one day but the doctor meant it was the exact right thing to do and he said that whenever there is some other problem I should call in. He rather checks twice than have bad news in the end.

Firstly HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!! This is my first one but Roshon is in Louisianna getting ready to play a football game tomorrow night :crying: I'm at his parents though and had a big feast which inevitably led to a big nap.... :P

Eveline - you definately did the right thing going in to the docs, I'm so glad to hear everything is great though  drink, drink, drink!!! I have a problem with drinking, I'm not really a thirsty type of person but I really need to start forcing myself to drink more

Think I'll pop and get some of those Altoids tomorrow! Thanks Nizzy!! I've actually been feeling much much less nausous thankfully!

Anyway my mom-in-law is camping out at circuit city (no thanks!) so i'm off to deliver drinks and pumpkin pie!!!

Wow KiKi, that is two handsome young men you have there. I bet they love their little baby sister.

Congratulations on your pregnancy KJandSH. Hope everything goes well. How far along are you now (I'm guessing five months).

I am about 5 months along. 20 weeks to be exact. We had our 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday and had a big shock. We're expecting fraternal twins and had no clue!

OOOohhh Congratulations. I'm having goosebumps. How cute is that? I wanted twins but we'll "only" get one. Did you see the gender or no? All the best.

We weren't planning on finding out the sex with one and didn't find out on Wednesday. I asked the sonographer to write it down though, and called her yesterday. We are having fraternal twin girls. :)
