I heard from somewhere that certain fish, raw or not should be avoided during pregnancy due to mercury levels....

There are indeed certain type of fishes one should stay away from...mackerel, swordfish and there should me a limit to tuna...once in a while tuna is okay but not excessively...

Generally, cost would seem to limit consumption of swordfish; as for tuna, one should post-1985 (Canada Starkist scandal aka "tunagate") be leery anyway.

Yeah I don't see myself consuming swordfish anytime in the near future...I didn't know it cost alot but it isn't something that I would come across nor crave...

Unassisted childbirth isn't limited to neither cars nor movies. Many women choose an unassisted childbirth for a myriad of reasons. Birth is normal and has been happening since the beginning of time. :luv:

Ok, I have read all 52 pages of this thread  I am all caught up now!!

Congrats to all the new mommies (and daddies) The babies are so cute! Me and my hubby are thinking of stopping the Pill in a month or so. My biggest concern right now is I am on some prescription meds and 1 of them (according to my family doctor) I have to stop taking if trying to get pregnant. I need to look more into this and find an alternate med.

Well, I had my baby the day after I posted this.......emergency C-section, but all is fine now and she is healthy and beautiful!

She was born at 37 weeks and weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and was 21 inches long, I can't imagine how big she was GOING to be at 40 weeks!!!!!!

Here is Olivia Joan :)

Trying to add a few more pics...

I just found out a couple minutes ago, that my close friend who is pregnant is having an emergency c-section. :( Her husband called me. She is only a little over 7 months pregnant, I don't know how many weeks exactly. She has been having blood pressure problems and was in the hospital overnight.

It's good to see success stories of babies born early. Please say a prayer for my friend Jenn and her baby girl, her c-section is in about an hour. (F)

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Mellie, great to hear from you! :) My niece just had a baby on Satuday; she was 3 weeks early but perfect and they named her Mia as well. Mia Star in fact...my mom said she can just see her toddling around about 1 1/2, pointing at herself, and saying "me a star!" ;)

Stina, thinking of your friend and praying everything turns out just fine. (F)

Thanks. :)

This couple is kind of connected to visajourney, well our visajourney, as they were the ones who gifted me the $110(that was the price back then) to send in my petition for the K-1 process since I was low on money and having trouble finding a job.

Rhonda, glad to see ya here.

Pre-eclampsia is what my neice had when she lost her first baby at 22 weeks, and I blame the doctor. She had called him a week an half previously to say she sure had a lot of swelling she was worried about...(SHE didnt know what was normal and what was not as it was her first), instead of asking her WHERE she was swollen..(her face and hands badly), he told her..."Welcome to being pregnant". Then when she went into contractions, he argued AGAINST a c-section right away (with a specialist, mind you) and they tried to "deliver".

No wonder the poor babe had trauma on the brain. We think he might have lived had it not been for the "attempted delivery", as that lasted NINE hours before they did the c-section, and the boy lived for 4 days, til the discovered the brain trauma. So the doctor was really remiss in that case. That is an extreme case, as her doc should have had her on a high risk list anyhow, cuz she has had PCOS and had cancer laser surgery on her cervix when she was 17, so it makes it really hard to hold a child to term when you have had that surgery.

So its a miracle we have the lil grand niece we have now. She is a real sweetie. Let me see if I can post a pic.

Hugs to all

Jill

Well, I thought I downloaded a pic, but I guess I just dont know how. :crying: One of these days I will figure it out.

Oh and Kiki, thanks for the pregnant with diabetes site, I will check into it.

Hope all the lil ones are doing great!
