Holy #######, I'm next to deliver :P

We go in 3 weeks for my next ultrasound. They're gonna check the placement of my placenta (it was low last time) and see if baby's still breech. My mom is hoping they will say "oh we were wrong, it's not a boy, it's a girl!" but I told her not to hold her breath

You never know, you could very well be pleasantly suprised come delivery time! They could tell ya boy or girl up until you deliver, but you wont know 100% for sure till it comes out! :P

I know they could be wrong.. but I'm not holding my breath on it either

Sorry Faith, that sucks.

If it's any consolation I failed my first glucose test with both my other kids and passed the 3 hour ones.

Drinking that stuff so may times on an empty stomach sucks....yuck

I'm sure it's going to happen to me again too.

I only failed by 2 points, so hopefully I'll pass the 3 hour one. That's what I'm not looking forward to: the not eating for 12 hours prior to. Or drinking anything but water.

what the heck kinda test is that?? im scared now!

as you can see, i have not been prodded all that much!

It's a test you'll get at the beginning of your third trimester. You'll go in and drink this nasty drink and then an hour later they will take your blood. This is not a fasting test, you can eat before. It checks to see what your glucose tolerance level is.

If you fail, you have to fast for 12 hours and then drink the nasty drink and then get blood drawn every hour for 3 hours to see if you have gestational diabetes.

Hello Everyone! Now I can join the list, too :D

I arrived in the US on March 24th and found out couple of days ago that I am 5 weeks pregnant! My husband and I are very excited :D We were thinking of starting a family once I get my visa and I was already taken prenatal vitamins, no alcohol, etc.

What I am not excited about is the insurance and I am very worried. My husband is insured with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield under Individula KeyCare Preferred policy and when I came to the US, we filled out the application to add my name on the policy. They sent us a letter asking for more medical history information and asked me to go to a doctor to do general physical. I did that and I had to tell the doc that I am pregnant. He wrote everything on the form BCBS sent me and I sent it to the insurance company today. I had to pay general physician doc $ 450 for a regular check-up out of my pocket (the prices in NYC are very high) and I don"t want to even imagine how much my OB/GYN visits + delivery+ hospital will cost us.. :(

I am very worried now that I will not be covered at all.. but I guess we will find out from the insurance next week..

I guess we should have waited with the baby until the insurance is settled but it happend really fast..

It will be our first child for both of us.. I am 30 years old and my husband is 38.

Congratulations again to everyone who is expecting!

My hubby's insurance picked me up even tho I was already pregnant (he got the job in March. I'm the USC) Some insurances will do that. If not, look into the state aid for your state. I had medicaid before my hubby's insurance and they covered 100% of my pregnancy costs.

I'm not sure what they do if you are already diabetic, I would assume that they would just want you to keep with your regular diet and be monitored. If you find out let us know
