Had another one of our doc appt's yesterday. All is well. The heart beat is strong (and fast). This time, th doc didn't have to search for the heartbeat - it was right there. Loud and clear. The doc said it sounds like a strong and healthy baby girl. :D But he backpaddled and said that he just somehow thought it would be a girl but that there's only a 50% chance of him being right on that one. <_<

Anywho, everything is fine and we have our Ultrasound scheduled for May 4. Then we'll know for sure... ;)

Hello to all the current and future pregnant women:

I found out I was pregnant on March 11th. But did not know you guys had this wonderful area to post. I have been to the doctor twice. This last time they did the vaginal u/s and gave me the due date of November 6th. So we are not as far along as we originally thought.

I have no idea how this baby was conceived  (as far as ovulation and timing). Here are the dates, LMP on Jan 5th. Went to Mexico on Jan 31st to be with Alex when he got his visa. This is when we started doing laundry. Aunt Flo was due to come around the 5th of February, when it did not we waited and tested three different times the week of February 13th all were negative. Called the Doctor and she said not to worry that sometimes with stress it can throw the schedule off to test again in March if there is nothing and then call for an appointment. Well on March 11th, I tested and it was positive. Still not sure how that egg hung around for so long. That egg was getting fertilized over a week after I should have had my period.

The doctor said I am a late ovulator.

Faith by the way: I have noticed already that there is that looseness in my hips, I don't know if it is because this is my second pregnancy (third if you count the miscarriage before Emily). I know I was not expecting this until a lot later. Seems like when I stand up I have to get my feet under me to make sure that I don't tip over.

I copied this from the internet: Why does pregnancy cause low back pain? The answer is twofold. First, as the fetus grows, a woman's abdominal wall stretches to accommodate the expanding womb, and the extra room needed for this has to come from somewhere. Because the abdominal muscles are stretched far beyond their normal state during pregnancy, they lose their ability to perform their normal role in maintaining body posture and as a result, the lower back takes on an abnormal amount of weight from the torso.

The hormone relaxin is the second explanation for low back pain. During pregnancy, the hormone relaxin is present in 10 times its normal concentration in the female body. Relaxin is good in the sense that its function — as you might guess from the name — is to relax the joints in the pelvis so the baby has room to pass through the birth canal. Unfortunately, relaxin also causes abnormal motion in many other joints of the body, causing inflammation and pain.

First of all, CONGRATS!!!!!

The pain I'm having is not low back pain. My doctor called me back and said that this is my actual pubic bone (pelvis) hurting. (It's an "inside" pain that's hard to describe... .best description is it hurts so bad that I have walk bowlegged sometimes and the pain goes into my whole pelvic area and thighs) It's known that the pelvis starts to thin the ligaments and pull apart for delivery, which is normal to happen in the last month or so of pregnancy. Pretty much as described in your last paragraph. The concern is that it has relaxed way too early and could cause serious problems with my pelvis. I've done some reading on the net and this is an actual medical condition that they are seeing and there are ways to help it (bed rest, chiropractic therapy, etc.) The problems with it can be that you lose your range of motion in your hips and pelvis and if you have an epidural you could actually do permanent serious damage if you can't feel it when it hurts when they pull your legs apart. (I'm not gonna have an epidural so that's not a concern). My doctor feels that he needs to see me tomorrow and not wait another week and a half to take a look at this. So we'll see what he says to do.

The nurse today said that probably everything is fine and that "it's just how my body is going to be with this pregnancy" and that at least the doctor will be able to confirm that things are ok for me.

I'm wondering if because back when I had my youngest they didn't take that pain for what it was, maybe it could have caused it to be slightly damaged or heightened my risk for it to happen in this pregnancy earlier, yanno?

Who knows.. I'll probably go in there and he'll tell me to suck it up :P
