What's VBAC?

Oh Eveline, I meant to ask you : How are cloth diapers working for you? How often do you have to change them?

Ummm, I must admit. I gave up on cloth diapers a couple of weeks back since peanuts poop piles got so big and not hard enough to dump them in the toilet. It would have been a big ol mess in the washing mashine that I just stopped it alltogether. WE're now using TARGET or WHITE CLOUD cheapies.

hmmm ok I will keep this in mind.

I need to gain weight by Friday...

I just weighed myself this morning and I am down about 8 pounds from the weight I started out at at my first prenatal visit.... I was only down about 3 or 4 pounds 2 days ago  my weight seems to fluctuate wildly from day to day...

I think it is common to loss weight. I have lost 10 pounds but the doctor said it was fine. We will see what he says this Friday. I am going in for my second ultra sound. I am still not keeping down dinner so I keep losing weight but he said it was fine. Does anyone get a numb feeling in the palm of their hand? It is hard for me to brush my hair or write with my right hand.

Wow, why America is so behind on maternity leave policies?

Not for the lack of money, I believe.

Lack of forward thinking, IMO. Its the same policy applied to group healthcare benefits and vacation/sick time. Most companies dont allow you to take more than 1 week off at a time in America. Before Ahmed got here, he just could not understand how any employer would limit their employees' vacation to anything less than a month. American companies seem to be more interested in short-term gain, rather than long-term goals. If they were more focused on the future, they'd put more effort into preventative measures. For example, my company pays for us to all have a free membership to Sam's Club, but hardly any of us use it. We've often suggested the same money could be used for a health club membership, which everyone would be much better off with.

Unfortunately, I dont think any of it will change. American companies are too deeply rooted in what they need/want right now, as opposed to how today's actions and plans will benefit the future.

I bet you'll start using that Sams Club membership when you have to buy diapers!

Does anyone use cloth diapers these days? I know back in the day my mom used cloth diapers. Where would you find them? I am thinking of ways to save money.

I am planning on using cloth (both to save money and for the environment :) I went to thanksmama.com and bought mine. It is a little overwhelming at first with all the options these days. If you have any questions...just ask! I went with unbleached infant indian prefolds, prorap covers (a couple in newborn and small, but I think i need about 4-5 in each size) and then I bought a sample pack of different covers and all in ones just to try and see if I like them (but the all in ones are sooo much more expensive than the prefolds, so I don't plan on buying a lot of those). THen I got a snappie and 2 pins just to see what I like. I am excited. I have them all washed and ready to go :)

These are ok for burp rags, but not for diapering. They are just too thin and leak. That is what I have heard, at least.

Thanks I will go check out that site!! Also thanks about the info on the walmart cloth diapers. I am just trying to find ways to save. I am a teacher and my husband is in college full time so every little thing helps out.

Hello

Found out for sure that my husband and I are having a girl today. I knew all along in my heart that she was a girl. I need names. I have not put any thought into it at all. Any suggestions :help:

Preferably a name that begins with K and maybe has a y in it.

Maybe someone has PM'd her?

It's truly unusual for her to be away from VJ so long...especially this thread.

I PMed her, so worried :(

I haven't said much in the thread about worrying about her, because I don't want to overwhelm her with posts about worrying about her, but I was going to PM her too. Glad you did. I'm sure whatever reason she hasn't been around is something she isn't ready to talk about in this thread or she would have already.

Marilyn, if you read this, hope you are doing ok! I don't know what's up but let one of us know in a PM, if you can, please. (F)
