I just lay there all awake with my boobs about to explode

They always say that your milk supply will decrease the older baby gets but even though Adam eats three meals a day...and he eats big portions, I can still feed half our neighborhood with my milk (if they wanted it, haha). Somehow my boobs are just not getting he hint of slowing down.

I'm nervous that mine won't make enough. I suppose most women who want to breastfeed have that fear...

Nah, don't worry. Only a very few don't make enough milk. The rule is...DON"T SUPPLEMENT even if they give you a hard time at the hospital when your milk hasn't come in. If you supplement then your milk supply doesn't get established right. Nurse nurse nurse and pump if you have to and then you're off to a good start. It took me three days until my milk came in and Adam lived off of colostrum for so long, no formula.

That's what I'll do, for sure. I've read that despite what the Mom may believe, the baby isn't going to starve in those few days it takes for the milk to come in.

I hope to use breast milk ONLY...

ONE DAY AT A TIME....

I did try so hard to breastfeed my Emily but even after my milk had come in there was not enough to sustain her. SO this time i am not even going to give my self a hard time, ill try and if this does not work, i will bottle feed.

No I don't let him cry it out but I thought about it for a second and then moved on. I always thought I was doing something wrong. Now I know that it is normal. I hate when people are shocked that he still wakes up at night.

I've read that for babies "sleeping through the night" means 5 hours. I don't know if this is until baby is 1 year or just for newborns (which I doubt). So if you think about it...they actually are sleeping through the night, haha. My MIL told me I should let him cry, it makes his lungs stronger...#######.. I thought breathing does that not screaming and desperation. Anyway, my husband let him cry once and it broke my heart. I cannot listen to him crying.

@Lizzy: Way to go. That's exactly what I would do. It either works or not, once you put yourself under too much pressure it won't work. Do whatever you feel is right. There's no way of forcing it.

@Tracyluis: In the first days I don't think they really care to eat. They sleep and look around a lot and live off of colostrum. If you have natural vaginal birth, your milk should come in faster than after a c/s. It took me three days until my milk came in ( i had a c/s) and Adam only lost 8oz of weight in the hospital.

@Anne: I know there's the mommy corner but for some reason people seem to stick to this thread here.

Smell craving sounds good. I love thr smell of lemon now. As far as the food cravings go, I go for pears and bagels.

I agree with everybody. Let your body do its job and produce milk. It knows better. This is what I am going to do - nurse, nurse, nurse. Hey, I have to do something with those size E boobs.

Thought I'd pop on...it's been a busy day here but wanted to say hi to my fellow pregnant gals and new mommas.

I also like the smell of citrus...lemon especially. The Burt's Bees "Mama Bee" skin oil I have smells lemony and I love it.

While being sick I sniffed a lot of vapor rub! But more out of necessity. :)

I hope you are all doing well!

So far, I have more smell aversions ... like hubby's mouthwash, canned salmon (ick but hubby loves it)!!!

A co-worker just commented that I am now starting to show a little ... but my bump is SOOOO low, it really doesn't look like I am pregnant, just like I ate a dozen pizzas :)

I had a lot of smell aversions, and an extra sensitive nose. I felt like I was always asking people 'dont you SMELL that???' :dead: especially there was a real chemical-ly smell coming from the copier at work that really made me nauseous even to stand by it....

Somebody at work (who didn't already know I was pregnant) actually noticed that I was pregnant all on their own!! Maybe that sounds silly, but I've been dying for someone to recognize my belly bump as something other than a little weight gain.

I feel like I reached another milestone today :D

I remember that too. My personal notary (yep, I have that haha) noticed it when I met her at the supermarket. She didn't really know what to say but she knew that usually I don't have a belly what so ever so she just blurted right out  Boy, was I proud.

Then, two weeks after delivery an old lady asked me how far along I was while I was looking at toys at the walmart baby aisle :o:no:
