Question about receiving Medicaid if you are not the USC, does this affect your I864??

Thanks, I'm pretty sure right now we could qualify for the Oregon Health Plan (State funded health care) but didn't think my Husband could utilize it due to the I864.

I have Health Insurace thorugh work,

but my kids and husband are currently un-insured and I would LOVE to get them covered!

Let me know what you find out!

Thanks :)

Just thought I'd stop by to let everyone know that Sean Thomas was born march, 8th at 4:43 pm, 7lbs 15oz , 21". We had a 28 hour labour/delivery with some complications but what matters is that everything turned out just great. I am slowly recovering because of a 3rd degree tear, but things are really getting better. So far he's been a real angel and needless to say me and Eric are totally in love

Here he is... (L)

He is just precious and glad that you both seem to be fine now. Take care and enjoy him since they grow so fast.

Could any one give me a rough estimate on what to expect in bills? We have Anthem PPO and I'm finding it hard to get an approximate total. Is it a really scary number?

Having a baby in Ireland is practically free...you go to your GP, he confirms that you're pregnant, sends off info to the Health Board and hospitals that you are pregnant...and your costs are covered, no matter what you earn.

So as you can imagine, I'm waiting for the shock of my life!! Give it to me...I can take it, I swear :help:

You need to know what your co-pays are definitely. But also keep in mind that there will be hospital charges that will be tacked on to the co-pay as well (it's always stupid #######, our co-pay is $50 for my kids and if they have an x-ray we always get charged like $61 instead). I'd call the insurance company, they can give you a rough estimate of what you will be expected to pay.

Question about receiving Medicaid if you are not the USC, does this affect your I864??

I have HEARD that you can't get it if you aren't the USC. It violates the terms of the I864. The immigrant can not receive welfare and face it, medicaid is welfare. I get it because I'm the USC and my hubby is only on the forms as my husband and who lives in my house and whose income is considered because it has to be that way, but he does NOT get the benefits.

I have a 5 foot body pillow. It goes between my legs and then cradles my stomach. It really helps when I sleep!
