I'm pretty sure it's braxton hickst contractions. Call your doctor if you are worried. Mine started at about 23 weeks. Drink at least 4 qts of water every day and count the contrations. There shouldn't be more than 5 in one hour. If there are...go to L&D and have it checked out. Good luck.

It's not too early :) I started having Braxton Hicks at 16 weeks. My doctor said it is completely normal; however, I need to call them if I have more than 4 BH contractions within an hour. I usually have 4-6 a day.

Some more info: http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy...dbirth/156.html

Good luck! :)

I'm in the third trimester!

All I can say is that I feel a dramatic increase in hunger, I am hungry ALL THE TIME! between that and the crazy dreams I've been having I think these next few weeks are gonna drag...

Anyone else have vivid weird dreams a lot? I find that whatever I watch on TV before I go to bed is what plagues me all night, the week that Micheal Vick got arrested I dreamed of dogfighting for like 3 nights in a row, then I watched CSI another night and had a fairly gruesome evening, so I guess now its down to Disney and Animal Planet (as long as its not crocodiles eating a poor little zebra ...)

Sara-congrats on the 3rd tri! I have already been having weird dreams. Yes they are very vivid and strange! I used to wonder what's the difference between normal non-pregnant dreams and pregnant vivid dreams, but now I get it. They feel more real even though the situations are much more strange.

Well, I had an eventful Sunday :P My mom's friend asked if I could help her boss out of a jam at the PA Ren Faire, so against my better judgment, I thought sure - went to help her out Saturday and Sunday, but on Sunday I wasn't feeling too well, I started to have sharp abdominal and back pains, and I couldn't do anything but bend over in pain. They rushed me out of the Ren Faire to the hospital, where I got the absolute best care I've ever received. After loads of blood work, an ultrasound, and some tests, they found a very healthy 6 week 1 day old baby in there thankfully, unfortunately I have kidney stones which was causing the extreme pain. They also found out I am extremely anemic, which now explains why I have been so terribly exhausted so early on.

I just wanted to strangle the general manager at the fair though, I'm sitting there doubled over in pain, she was trying to console me, but she says "Don't worry I've had a miscarriage before too" I was in a lot of pain, but honestly fine until she said that, and then I just couldn't stop crying and my blood pressure went up. Thank god for the lovely ambulance crew, the advance life support guy started an IV and kept telling me my symptoms should not be based on my pregnancy, but should be based on my symptoms, and he was the first to tell me he thought it was kidney stones. He asked me where my husband was, and I told him at home with our 3 boys, and he asked what he did, and I explained he's looking for a job, as he'd just gotten his ssn and work authorization, and it turned out his mother had also immigrated from Scotland before he was born, he got so wrapped up chatting about Scotland he nearly forgot to tell the hospital we were en route, but he calmed me down so much even though I was in horrible pain!

Anyway, I needed to vent and share my story hehe Also congrats on the arrivals, and good luck and best wishes for everyone else still waiting it out ;) Take care girls!

Congratulations Leney...have a great, healthy and easy pregnancy.

I had some spotting early on and - going to a military hospital - was told by the doctor that I was going to miscarry. I couldn't believe how easy it was for him to say that...Fortunately I carried full term but a little more support would have been nice.

@Jonesi. Have a happy last trimester.

Leney-I'm glad everything was fine in the end with the baby. Sorry about the kidney stones though! :(

On babycenter where I post in an area, there have been a lot of women who had spotting but nothing was wrong with the baby. :)

I'm so tired today. I just stayed home all day. I've been extra hungry too. I eat and an hour later I am so hungry again.

How long does the spotting/bleeding usually last in the first trimester? Is it more common in the first few weeks?

ONE DAY AT A TIME....

I had spotting everytime I overdid it or got exhausted. I walked our dog when I was about six weeks along and the next day I had spotting. Then, a week later I worked out and a day later I had some spotting again, that is when I stopped working out at all, hehe. It is more common in the first trimester, everything after week 10 I would have definetely checked out by a doc.
