I wanted to breastfeed until he was six months but there was just no way that I let him cry those two extra months. He was so hungry and seems a lot happier with the cereal. He is a big guy and although I have milk I can't deal with feedings every half hour. I can't do anything except for nursing all day.

@Reinhard: Your babygirl is sooo precious. I still remember when she was born, can't believe that was 10 months ago...

I didn't really crave anything during pregnancy. In the last trimester I had lots of fastfood but that was about it. NOthing too weird.

I don't know what is wrong with Adam but he's been screaming his heart out for about one week. He never cries and is usually a happy content baby. I thought it was a growth spurt and he does seem hungrier than usual but this has been going on for a week now. So yesterday - after he cried about one hour straight and there was nothing I could do - I bought a box of rice cereal and gave him a tablespoon full with breastmilk and HE LOVED IT. He literally sucked it out of the bowl, having his mouth open as soon as he saw the spoon coming towards his mouth. The doc said I should breastfeed him for two more months before introducing solids but he seems so much happier with the rice cereal. Right now he's lying on the floor in the living room, rolling back and forth with his feet in his mouth, singing and talking. I haven't fed in three hours (compared to every half hour just yesterday) and he seems sooo much better....

A friend told me she did the same with her son and he was a lot happier, slept thru the nights, etc. I want to do this also (breastmilk and cereal). What brand of rice cereal do you buy?

Rein: your daughter is precious :) cannot wait to finally hold my pumpkin :)

I'm using the Gerber Rice Ceral nothing mixed and nothing with flavor. I mix it with breastmilk so it tastes only like breastmilk.

When my mom left the hospital with my brother they told her to stop at the store on the way home and by him cereal. They told her he'd starve to death otherwise. So he ate cereal starting at just a couple of days old. He's not allergic to anything and is perfectly healthy.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Wow, that is REALLY early. My mom fed me solids at 6 weeks cause her milk supply just decreased but I think I was having a growth spurt and she didn't know (no internet 25 years ago in the former GDR) so she thought I was too hungry while I actually wanted to increase the milk supply. I love nursing and if it was up to me I'd nurse until Adam is hitting puberty....JOKE :lol: .

We have a heartbeat! We are so thrilled a relieved. The baby measured in at 7W6D and had a racing heart at 166 BPM! It was the coolest thing I have ever seen and heard. We was the little arm buds and leg buds, then it flipped and we saw the spine. It had a big old head and tons on room for a big brain :) I am so happy and really feel like I can tell a few more people because the u/s tech said that even though they can never say for sure that everything is going to be fine and the baby will go to term, she did say that the measurement being so good and the heart rate so strong were a good sign and that I should stop worrying and enjoy this pregnancy, so that is just what I am going to do. :luv: My husband was there and he too was just amazed and finally gets why I am so crabby.

As far a cereal goes, my mom said that she fed us solids as soon as possible so that we would sleep through the night. She said it worked like a charm and highly recommends solids as soon as they will take them.

I am soo excited!! :star:

At my first ultrasound about 2 weeks ago, I was 9 weeks along. We weren't even going to be given an ultrasound until like 19 weeks bc that's how the office I am going to does it. I was bummed out but then my midwife wanted me to get an u/s to get an accurate due date because she thought I might be a little farther along than I was. So at my u/s I was supposed to be 8 weeks but I measured at 9 weeks. :) Not that big of a difference but I was just glad I got to have an ultrasound!

Hi Ladies,

I am just dropping in, boy do I have Lots of catching up to do. Well anyways, I'm pressed for time so I'll make this quick.

I had a bad asthma attack in my 33 week, and I had to be hospitalized things went from bad to worse really fast...in order to stabalize me and save us both they had to emergency c-section me. Zackery Michael was born on June 23,2007 at 6:08am weighing 1.86kg. We spent his first few weeks seperated  he was in neonatal intensive care, because he's a preemie and had problems holding his body temp. because of low birthweight. I was in adult intensive care. Everylthing that could have gone wrong did :( ...but Thank God it all turned fine.

Anywho all is well now, we are buth home recovering.....I will post pics later as soon as I can pry the camera hubby's hands.
