@ SARA & STINA&SUJ...

congrats!!

we had our pedi appt a couple weeks ago and damion was almost 12lbs with 7 weeks!!

he also had his 3 shots which i thought he would cry really bad but he didnt..

i am so proud of my honey!! i guess he is used to the pain from the NICU

I can top that. Adam was 13 lbs with 5 weeks. He is now about 20lbs (4 months) but we'll have an appointment on Monday and they'll weigh him again.

Good to see that Damion is developing so well.

Hey everyone,

Just checking in. Congrats to all the new preggos. My baby shower is Saturday and I am excited about seeing all my friends and family. My family is coming up from Memphis. My husband has some cousins here, which is good. They will represent his side of the family.

Oh, you wonder why I know about my shower. My friends don't do surprises because they never work. LOL.

We will also have a 8th day party for my son based on my husband's customs. On the 8th day after the baby is born, the baby is introduced to the world. Someone who was born on the same day of the week (ie. Thursday) as my son will present him to God and the world. If you saw Roots, you know what I am talking about. We won't do everything. (I am technically suppose to stay in the house with the baby until the 8th day)

It is all vary interesting.

Congrats Yassmine. Happy pregnancy....

Adam has his 4 months checkup on Monday. I'm all excited. We had to upgrade to Size 4 Diapers (22 - 37lbs) this weekend. I guess we have to use pullups by the time he hits 6 months, haha. I better get him potty trained...

Hi everyone... I never really followed this thread, well, cuz I wasn't in the "family way" - but now I am!!!! Woo hoo... we are 5 weeks pregnant today. Still early, but there ya go. I've joined the club and we couldn't be more excited. Hubby's got a nice new job too (just in time!).

Gabi, looks like we're due around the same time. :luv::star:

I am not sure why it is the 8th Day. I will ask my husband. I also know that his female relatives will wait to see what the baby looks like before they congratulate my husband. It has to be confirmed that the baby looks like him. :) I laughed when my husband told me this. Let's just pray the baby has more of his traits than mine. JK!

Adam looked like me and my DAD the first weeks.....wonder what they would have said then...:lol::lol:

We had our 4 months checkup yesterday. Adam ist 20lbs 2oz (97 Percentile) and 26.5 inches (90 percentile). He also got three more shots. The first one he didn't even notice but then he started crying until I picked him up. For the rest of the day, he was one fussy baby and cried a lot and he NEVER cries unless he is hungry. They told me to keep breastfeeding for another two monhs and then we'll start with the solids...

Eveline~~what a healthy boy you have! what a blessing!

Just wanted to stop by and check on all the mommies and mommies-to-be. This MTB is tired and cranky....it is almost lunchtime, so maybe that will help.

Question: You know all this stuff with lunch meat....is that for real? I am eating it for lunch and just find it kind of exaggerating the risk. What do all of you think?

I haven't been around too much but thought I would pop in to congratulate all the new families to be. Khalil is 6 months now and for awhile was really not gaining much weight. He's started to pick up now though and I'd guess he's between 18 and 20 pounds. We've had a hard time with him vomiting. A bunch of tests but nothing seems to be wrong. He's on Prevacid for acid reflux. The only thing that seems to help is giving him solids so he eats cereal and fruit/vegetables 3 times a day and that's helped him gain weight and stop vomiting. You can check out my blog with some family pictures here:

Anyone having sleeping issues?? My first slept through the night at 2 months. Khalil gets up at least once a night. Any suggestions?? I just want to sleep through the night!! :)

@Amera: What a cute family you have. Adam sleeps about 10 hours a night so I can't complain. He's a big sleeper (just like his daddy). I've heard of toddlers still waking up at least once a night.

@ace13: I didn't eat lunchmeat unless i fried it before eating and I also didn't eat hotdogs etc...well, that was until I graved it sooo much and then I just said "The heck with that rule". Just make sure you boil the hotdogs and as long as the lunchmeat hasn't been lying in the sun all day you should be fine.

I asked my OB about the lunchmeat thing and she thought it was a bit overzealous. She said that she would just avoid things with nitrates like salami and hot dogs. My best friend's OB told her to just zap the lunchmeat in the microwave for a bit and then it should be fine.

Congrats to all the newly preggo ladies.

Laura--I was very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Take care.

SOMEWHERE in this thread....probably around page 60...lol....we debated the lunch meat thing....

I craved and ATE Subway ALOT during my pregnancy....and nothing horrible happened.....I think it's a bit overblown, with my second son I ate bologna sandwiches non-stop....weird cravings!

Somewhere wayyyyy back on this thread, while I was pregnant, I found the odds of getting Listeria from lunch meat and posted them and they were really small, but I don't have the time to search this whole thread.
