All mommies who gave birth in a hospital: What are the things you would recommend to take with you?

I just put the bag together today and here's what's in it:

For me:

Nightgown & Robe

Comfy Outfit for going home

Toiletries stuff & towel

Underwear, socks, bikini top (water birth)

Nursing bra & pads

Some instrumental music CDs that I usually put in when I need to relax

For baby:

Nail clippers

Socks and 2 Caps

3 Onesies

going home outfit

For D.:

Camera & batteries :P

The baby seat will be put in the car some time in the next 2 weeks.

Anything else you would recommend?

That sounds about ok. Everything I needed though was sweatpants, my nursing bra and a bathrobe.

I don't know if you need the boobie pads yet, since your milk won't probably come in until you're home but it's always better to bring some. Maybe you can bring some sanitary pads, since you're going to bleed after giving birth. That's all I can think of. I guess you're ready to go...good luck.

Hi everyone!

Well I get to join you. :star: It took about 5 months but it finally happened in May. :)

You might have already read it in the thread I started that I am pregnant! I am almost 8 weeks along, but have an u/s on Friday to make sure. My first appt was today and it went well. I am using a certified nurse midwife who works at an OB Dr's office(so I can have a DR just in case). She is very very nice. She felt my uterus and thought it felt bigger than 8 weeks so she wants to do an u/s to verify a due date. I am excited! Otherwise I would have had to wait until 19 weeks for my first u/s (which still will happen to find gender).

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Ivona,..

What about mittens for baby. Just the little lightweight cotton ones, to stop baby, scratching themselves.

I dont know if they even sell those anymore, but they did when my babies were little (btw. they are about to turn 14 next month).

Just a thought from a long time mommy...

Thanks Eveline and Jodee, I know I'm going for overkill here and will probably bring more than half the stuff back home untouched but I figure that's better then missing stuff and then having D. go home for it or to the store or something...

Congrats Stina and Sara (F)
