Eveline--You are a breastfeeding champ with your 18 pound baby! I supplement with my twins because my supply has never totally been enough. I had no choice in the beginning since Haneul would not latch on after being in the NICU and fed bottles and I think that is probably why my supply is insufficient. Now both girls are nursing well, so I hope to supplement less and less.

Anne--Have a great trip and congrats on being together as a family finally!

CanadaLaura and other newly pregnant ladies--Congrats and best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!

We are at that time when we have to file for removal of conditions on hubby's permanent residency. I used to be so on top of these things before I had babies, but now I'm later than I would like to be in filing these papers. I also used to provide mountains of evidence (and they only looked at some of it) so now I'm just doing the necessary stuff plus maybe a tiny bit more. It's too hard to get all of this stuff around and take care of two newborns!

when I have a baby, I am not sure if I want to breast feed...

This last time I pumped because they told me that breast milk was the best thing for him.... of course he never got any because he was still being stabilized etc....

I ended up donating over 90 ounces of breast milk and I had dumped a bunch because I had run out of bottles and a bunch of bottles broke when hubby opened the freezer and they fell out.. and this was just for 2 weeks of pumping...

I basically came in right aways when I first started pumping, the lactation nurse was surprised about how much milk I got on the first try... I felt full all the time... it was very uncomfortable....

I would pump again if I had another preemie but I don't think I will other wise....

is this bad of me? Me and my bros weren't breastfed and we turned out ok....

Marilyn,

I tried breastfeeding my first son but just had really low milk supply and it HURT...........so after two months I had to switch to formula......with my second son.....went straight for bottle feeding, and same with my daughter.

My first son was sick constantly and the other two healthy as horses (knock wood)

Do whatever YOU feel comfortable with and don't be bullied.......

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

Well.. my due date came and went and she doesn't seem to want to come out! I'm hoping to schedule my induction for June 3rd. I'm seeing the doctor on Thursday to have an ultrasound to check on her...

I swear we tried every home remedy except castor oil and Nothing!

I hate waiting...

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

Hi everyone!!! So.....Hayden was born on Saturday 05/05!! He was four weeks early, weighed 6lb 7oz, 19in long!!! I'm still a little dazed and confused ;) My waters broke at 6am without any contractions or warning and he was born 7.27pm. I had a good labor, delivered vaginally, had no medication and didn't need stitches!!! I feel really lucky. He had to go in the nursery the first night as he paused sometimes when breathing, but he has been great since then. I found breast feeding difficult at first but we've figured that out now!! He has some mild jaundice but apart from everything else he's healthy!! I think i spend 12 hours of the day just looking at him!!

I've not had time to read about anyone else yet....hope everyone is doing good :star:

Sorry I missed your post.

Congratulations! It sounds like you had a good labor!

No, I have heard that it is not a real picture. If it was then I would have looked like that, just with a butt sticking out right underneath my ribs. That never happened.

@Anne: Good to hear that you are back in VA. I bet it feels good. DAmions crying spells might have been a growth spurt. Adam has that every couple of weeks (like yesterday) and I always hope that we are home on days like that because he just cries cries cries and you can hardly stop him. I tried to give him a bottle (because we weren't home yesterday  ) but he didn't like it so I evenually had to unpack in our car and breastfed him. He fell asleep and then I carried him around in my sling and he fell asleep. Today he's the old Adam again, cooing and talking and no more crying spells.

I also had an epidural but my bonus shot didn't work so I felt contractions anyways. I would definetely do it again, although I never wanted one before I had Adam. Let's just say...I've changed my mind about that one.

Had my weekly app today and also had U/S scan to see how big (or little) he is, weighing in at only 5lb 9oz the doc said that he's a little small but still within the good limit  I will be 38 weeks this coming saturday. The doc offered to sweap my membranes but i declined, as i'd rather labor came on out of the blue rather than knowing it will come on within 48 hours  i'd rather not know.....

I asked why he offered that as there's nothing wrong with baby or me. He said that most women that have had an incompetant cervix as me, with bedrest, spend their time worrying the whole way thru till they get to 37 weeks (full term) then they just want it over with. But i'd rather spend my last couple of weeks uncomfortable and just have this time for me, cause after the birth that wont happen very often if at all. We got some really cool 3D pics of our little one, and for a small baby he has the most adorable little pudgy face and nose

My husband could not stop smiling, it was a special moment (L)

I hope all you mommies are doing good.

Well I went to the doc today and I am measuring at 32 weeks and not 28 weeks. So she is sending me for another ultrasound. I have a fibroid that is growing because I am pregnant and she is thinking that is why I am so big. But, good news is that my glucose test was negative so no gestational diabetes. But, my iron is low, so I have to supplement. Must be all that blood going to both the baby and the fibroid.

Besides the swelling of my feet, I feel great. My feet went up a whole size. I am praying that it goes back down.
