KjandSH: Great advice, I will definitely look at craigslist.

Savanphil: I like the name you picked. That is a powerful name.

Eveline: Another baby already? Well you know you are at your most fertile right now after the baby. I know quite a few people (besides Britney Spears) who got pregnant while breasfeeding and on the pill and their baby wasn't even 3 months old yet. Food for thought.

I think I felt the baby move last Friday. It was feeling I never had before. I got so excited at the little flutter. I was like, "Do it again" So I waited. and nothing. But I told my husband. He laughed and said it was too soon. I don't think so. We will see if I feel it again. :)

shayrene,

I was about 18 or 19 weeks when I starting feeling mine move. I kept questioning whether that was it, then one day, it was like a light suddenly turned on. Mine was a tap tap tap, like some flicking the inside of you. I felt mine very low, almost right above the #######.

The Dr. finally called me back and if they're swollen like that tomorrow, they'll have me come in. I'm so annoyed at everyone who suddenly becomes a Doctor with an opinion when you become pregnant. I'd like to scream , "F. off!!!!"

I'm having a good day, I swear.

Hi everyone!

Glad to see everyone is doing well!! Congrats on the boy Savanphil!!! It really seems boys outnumber girls on VJ!!

Eveline - Hows motherhood?? I can't believe your little 'peanut' is here!! Hope your having fun anyway!!

Shirleyjeremy - your baby boy is adorable, he's lovely!!!

Shayrene - Its not too soon, the first time I felt our little one move was around 21 weeks and Roshon was able to feel him move immediately! He helped me confirm what I'd felt - I never felt flutters, I just felt kicks!

My glucose came back normal after the 3hr so thats a big relief! The doctor said at my last appointment that they wanted to monitor his size as he seemed a little large...so at least I dont have gestational diabetes and his already largeness to contend with. Thats what happens when you marry big, muscular men!! Hopefully he'll calm down and be a nice perfect size  I'm not worried yet!! Birthing class was fun, the teacher is really nice and very experienced so I'm looking forward to learning everything.

We've almost done with the baby shopping!! We've got all the big things now, just need some of the small stuff like bottles, diaper genie etc etc.

Anyway stay healthy everyone!

Sammy

It is great. I did have a case of the baby blues in the beginning. I just thought that he didn't like me and that my husband had much better instincts when it came to calming him down or changing his diaper but now I have taken over. That little boy is my everything and I love him more than anything. He hardly ever cries, loves baths and has the cutest little wrinkly forehead when he is hungry...I get enough sleep and I can also take showers since he is sleeping all day. He is a very easy little baby boy. I guess that is also a reason that I want another one already. I talked to my husband about that yesterday and we decided to wait another three years and just give all our attention to Adam for now. Eric will be getting out of the military in February next year and I would be full term pregnant by then (if I got pregnant again now). I just don't want him to get out the military and us having two babies, no job for a while and no insurance...that would be too risky for all of us, so we wait a little.

I'm glad to see that your glucose levels are ok and your baby boy is growing good. I am so happy for all the pregnant girls here...hmm...it's my hormones, I'm just happy for everybody :luv:

SO, those with babies still in bellies  how far along are you with nursery decoration?

I'm now in week 21, and we're kicking the nursery into high gear...

It was the one room in the house that we used to use as a storage room, so it took a long while to go through all that stuff and actually find a place for keeping it somewhere else in the house....

We are lucky that the major piece of building was just opening up the closet space, that we decided we would make into an open space shelves area: now that that's done we are buying white paint for the base coat on the walls this weekend, after that the colours go up and a mural that I drew for on wall.

Of course, I can't wait any longer :P so we'll buy the first batch of baby gear/ furniture and stuff this weekend as well.

Take care

@Ivona- I haven't started my decorating yet. I am going to start at about 26 or 27 wks...we are hoping to move by then.

I have looked at a lot of themes, I either want Care Bears or Zoo animals.

What are you ladies picking for your motifs?

I got a body pillow last night from Wal-mart  I also ordered a baby memory book from Amazon. I went to Baby Depot and picked out the one that I want, the ones in the store looked worn and a few were damaged so went online and ordered it. It's loose-leaf and goes from preg. to 5yrs.

I was reading an article on sleep during pregnancy.

Sleep on your left side If you aren't doing it already, train yourself to sleep on your left side. This position helps blood and nutrients flow to your baby and uterus and helps your kidneys eliminate waste and fluids. Plus, getting used to this position now will help you sleep better when your belly is bulging.

And this really caught my attention. How is your sleeping going? Does anybody sleep on their left side? I was a stomach, now back...and struggling to stay on ym side sleeper.

My wife is expecting and due on october 3rd. I read that also in a pregnancy book. I started telling my wife about a month ago to start sleeping on that side.

We have our next doctors appointment on the 30th where we will get to listen to the baby's heartbeat for the first time. Cant wait.

Is it normal to have morning sickness every second day right on the dot same time every day or is that just weird.

Wow. I'm really behind. I'm 29 weeks and there is nothing in the nursery! We're getting some gifts from family members (apparently I have relatives I didn't know could knit!) so I am definitely not buying the small stuff yet. This weekend we're going to get a Pack N' Play with a removeable bassinet so she can sleep next to me the first few weeks. She will be in her own room in a crib after that. (Or at least that is the plan!)

As for sleeping on your side, it is beneficial but don't stress out about it. Your body will tell you if you *need* to turn. I had a month that I kept waking up on my stomach and that's not supposed to be "good" for you but my doctor said it was no big deal. Now I'm a side sleeper/pillow cuddler. A pillow between the knees really helps keep you comfortable.

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

ohhh, i think my husband is too excited for our baby! we went and bought a crib when i was only about 6 or 7 weeks pregnant. i had to convince him that we should really wait until further in the pregnancy to buy the rest of the stuff... i have also bought 2 gender neutral baby outfits--i couldn't resist! my mom got a pack n play already (this will be my parent's first grandchild). one of my mom's friends is going to make a quilt for the baby after we find out the sex...i'm excited about that. if we have a girl, i have 2 friends who have tons of clothes for me.

i'm not going to have a themed baby room. i'm going to decorate it with things i find interesting along the way. i already know i want to hang up a picture of a mom and baby elephant that i took in tanzania...it's cute. we are moving the end of may, so i can't start decorating it yet..lol.

@theme.. well we dont have one either.. i moved a couple times to germany and then back to VA and then back to germany.. and i just started buying some stuff.. but we will go back to VA after the baby is born and till then hubs can pick a theme.. i love pooh so i bet hubs will buy something from that collection..

@sleeping.. my doc said i should sleep on my left side cuz there are some nerves on the right side and its harder to breathe.. i was a belly sleeper too.. i tried it on my back for a while.. but after my 25th week i couldnt do that either.. i couldnt breathe.. lol so i switched to the right side but that didnt help either.. now i am used to sleep on my left now but i cant do that all the time.. it depends how damion is laying in there..

well my docs appt sucked today.. i didnt spent much time with my doc and i didnt get my US.. i might get it next time.. but damion is doing really good.. HB is really strong and i gained 2lbs in 1 week.. gosh i am getting fat.. lol

my cervix is still closed but she is worried about my contractions.. i should rest a lot..

how is everyone else doing?
