Hi all.. guess what the dr said yesterday that everything looked good..but she wants me to take baby asprin

everyday something to help avoid preclampsia and another interesting fact..she said paternity makes a diff

the fact that it's a diff father could mean u have a healthy normal preg with no preclampsia.

as u all know I worry of this because of past historys in this.

AND.... ITS A GIRL!!

WOW, Sadia, a girl!!!! Congrats, that's awesome. I have read mixed reviews on the baby aspirin thing, but will ask my DR. about it.

Hopefully the paternity thing is true.

I do NOT want to get pre-eclampsia again!!

I had toxemia with my youngest son, so we're hoping that I don't get it again. However, I keep being told I have "trace" amounts of protein in my urine, which as you know is a tip-off... and that's how it started with my youngest son.

got my fingers crossed with you guys and also for myself :P

Congratulations on the Girl!!!!!!!

I really want a girl too, but all of the 'predict the sex of your baby' home methods keep pointing to a boy for me! I will be happy either way, but i really want to buy cute little dresses and cabbage patch dolls! (ok, i will admit, that cabbage patch dolls will mostly be for me..loved them as a kid!)

Update on my situation.... Its been about two weeks since i applied for medicaid and i really hope i wont have to wait another two to find out if ive gotten it! but, on a good note, i called my regular doctor cause i found out she also does prenatal care and deliveres too! If i dont get medicaid, my doctor offered to take care of me for a steal! $1800, including checkups, tests, ultrasounds, delivery, everything! (except for the hospital) but that is sooooo much better than what other doctors told me, $3500 before the baby is born, first visit $500 plus regular office visit costs and tests...... my doc will do all of that for almost half! its still a lot of money, but it is at least something that is doable! Plus, i told my mom about this, and she offered to pay for it for me...... (L) i love my mom! borrowing money is definately a last resort though, i do want to wait and find out if ive gotten medicaid. The guy i spoke with said about thirty days, but some find out within a week or two.

Funny thing about my mom, when i first told her i was pregnant...she slapped me on the forehead and called me a stupid girl! all in fun of course....but now i think shes starting to really get excited about it!

I aint cool enough for a signature.....

Hopefully the medicaid comes thru for you. That's not a bad price from your doctor. Mine charges $2500 if you don't have insurance. (Thankfully I got medicaid). But remember that price isn't going to include what the HOSPITAL will charge you, which can be thousands upon thousands of dollars. Can you call the medicaid office and ask what the status is? I know that (in Illinois at least) they expedite all pregnancy related applications. If you called and explained you need to get into the doctor maybe they can get things moving faster.

I had to give up girl dreams on this baby.... but we've found some really really cute boy stuff out there this time around. *sighs* one more time after this, that's all I'm willing to try for that girl! :P

Ive been thinking about calling, but its only been two weeks.....but, i think im going to wait until the end of this week and if i dont hear anything i'll call monday. But, the woman that i spoke with at the doctor's office told me that they typically approve pregnancy related medicaid applicaitons!!! I dont want to get my hopes up, but ive been hearing that a lot lately too..... That would be great, cause then baby would be covered from day one too!

aww thanks :)

Medicaid has been a life saver for me. Knowing that I'm covered even if Johnny's insurance that starts in 2 weeks won't pick me up because I'm already pregnant has saved us. We'll have his insurance for the baby, but it was nice when we weren't sure of that either (before J got this new job). I'd call on Monday for sure. That way you can make your appointment and get it taken care of. When I applied they took the application in and gave me 30 days coverage until they approved it, which helped as I applied when I had the tubal miscarriage.

Is that a happy thing for you right now?? I see the smiley face.. but not sure how to address this in the proper way.

I'm happy for you if you are happy... and sad and know the feeling if you are sad..

I know that sometimes if it is unexpected that you might be pregnant it is a relief when you find out you are not... but in the same token... it can kinda grow on ya that you might be and you still get a little feeling of dissappointment ... either way I have been there in all cases!

Hugs to you!
